Chapter 15 : Itachi's Artifacts

"Madara's plans must remain concealed, including my true identity. Even the members of the Akatsuki organization are unaware of my true identity. 

I've been posing as Uchiha Madara. Nagato and Konan suspect that I'm not the genuine Madara, but they don't know I'm Uchiha Obito," Uchiha Obito whispered under his breath.

He contemplated for a moment and then reached a decision.

[Uchiha Obito: I may not be dead, but I'm on the brink. As for the Gunbai, it was just a mishap. Don't pry too much; I'd rather not discuss it.]

[Uchiha Obito: Rin, I miss you terribly. How I long to see you again.]

[Nohara Lin: Obito, are you facing any challenges?]

[Kakashi: Obito, what's going on? If you're in trouble, you can tell us; I'll help!]

[Obito: No need.]

Kakashi furrowed his brow. He sensed a shift in Obito's demeanor. Though he hadn't seen Obito in years and their conversation was brief, it was clear that Obito had no desire to meet him.

Indeed, Uchiha Obito was very much alive. If he wanted to see Kakashi, he could have done so over the years. Obito had concealed himself for a purpose, and that purpose was not to be forced out.

Afterward, Obito continued to chat with Rin, gradually pushing the matter aside.

Uchiha Madara breathed a sigh of relief. Uchiha Obito was a crucial figure in his resurrection, irreplaceable. 

Without Obito's assistance, his revival would have been nearly impossible. Nagato, on the other hand, was merely a pawn with no knowledge of his true purpose and no ability to bring about Madara's resurrection.

Thus, the ultimate plan hinged on Obito.

Soon, the nineteenth-ranked weapon was announced.

[Orochimaru: Uchiha Itachi, you've hidden so well to possess a divine weapon like the Yasaka Magatama!]

Orochimaru was genuinely astonished. He had crossed paths with Uchiha Itachi numerous times, having once been a member of the Akatsuki. Uchiha Itachi's strength surpassed his own, primarily due to his ability to counter Orochimaru.

Orochimaru had believed that Uchiha Itachi's trump card was the Mangekyou Sharingan, with other abilities being relatively ordinary. Little did he know that Uchiha Itachi had also concealed weapons like the Yasaka Magatama.

In Konoha, Uchiha Sasuke had awoken. Though the four of them had taken him away without resistance, he didn't put up a fight.

Sasuke understood that he held little value in Konoha, and if he wished to progress, he needed to surpass Uchiha Itachi. Uchiha Itachi's possession of the Yasaka Magatama only intensified his desire for strength.

Moreover, Orochimaru, the one who had killed the Third Hokage, possessed great power. 

Under Orochimaru's tutelage, Sasuke could potentially catch up to Uchiha Itachi and ultimately seek revenge for his family and the Uchiha clan.

Sasuke recognized that the Golden List was a benefit for the strong. As a weak individual, he aspired to join the list to accelerate his growth.

"That guy is on the list; his strength is sure to skyrocket. I must follow Orochimaru to grow stronger as quickly as possible," Sasuke resolved.

After a while, the eighteenth-ranked weapon was revealed.

[Orochimaru: What? Itachi, you also possess the Yata Mirror? Where did you obtain such an artifact?]

[Uchiha Itachi: Orochimaru, why should I tell you?]

[Orochimaru: Hey, Itachi, don't get cocky. I know the toll frequent use of the Mangekyou Sharingan takes on your body.]

[Uchiha Itachi: Humph, I'm in great shape!]

In reality, Orochimaru envied Uchiha Itachi greatly. Even though he was technically more potent, Uchiha Itachi held three god-tier artifacts, making his benefits far more precious.

"I truly wish to eliminate Uchiha Itachi and claim his artifacts!" Orochimaru muttered. Unfortunately, he had missed his opportunity to do so at his prime, and his hands were now crippled. He stood no chance against Uchiha Itachi.

Soon, the seventeenth-ranked weapon was disclosed.

[Orochimaru: What? The Sword of Totsuka is in your possession as well? I've searched for it for years. The Sword of Totsuka is another Kusanagi Sword variant. When combined with my Kusanagi Sword, its power increases significantly.]

Orochimaru was genuinely envious. Acquiring the The Sword of Totsuka would greatly enhance his strength.

Yet, this incredible artifact had also fallen into Uchiha Itachi's hands. With three god-tier artifacts, Uchiha Itachi was invulnerable even if he ran out of tricks, while Orochimaru could be easily sealed by him.

The Sword of Totsuka's unique ability was sealing.

"In the future, when I encounter Uchiha Itachi, I must flee immediately. This guy is too formidable!" Orochimaru shuddered.

He wasn't afraid of most others, including Jiraiya, Tsunade, or even the Third Hokage. However, Uchiha Itachi was a different story; he was Orochimaru's Achilles' heel.

"When I manipulate Uchiha Sasuke, train him well, and eventually take control of his body, I won't fear Uchiha Itachi anymore. I might even be able to eliminate him and seize his three god-tier artifacts!" Orochimaru pondered.

At this moment, Orochimaru wasn't the only one envious of Uchiha Itachi; many other ninjas were as well.

[Fourth Raikage: Konoha's rogue ninja are truly fortunate to possess three god-tier artifacts. But even these three can only rank in the teens. It seems the remaining weapons must all be ninja tools from the era of the Sage of Six Paths.]

[Terumi Mei: It's a shame that we in Kirigakure lack the ninja tools of the Sage of Six Paths!]

At that moment, the sixteenth-ranked weapon was announced.

This weapon happened to be one of the five ninja tools of the Sage of Six Paths.
