Chapter-43 : Rocky Situation

In the barren and stone filled terrain of the rocky mountains, chakra beasts and all sort of life forms started running.

Running away for their lives as the clash of three titans continued, destroying the land below by their each and every move, changing the very earth they stood upon.

[Lava release : Hellscape]

One of the three men said as he used a humongous amount of chakra to turn the very earth into lava as everything in a 200 meter radius started turned red hot.

He was Roshi, the Jinchuriki of the four tailed beast.

It would have been a normal day for him if not for being ambushed.

But as a Shinobi who had seen multiple wars and dozens of conflicts as well being the Jinchuriki of the four tails, he was not weak.

He was a Kage level Shinobi, even without the use of the chakra of the four tails that was sealed inside him, and once he used the four tails, he was almost like a force of nature on battlefield.

As if possessing unlimited amount of chakra, he hurled one S rank jutsu after other, forcing his assailants back while keeping the pressure on.

"Fuck, my skin is burning" one of the other two men said as he covered himself and his partner in a bubble of water to protect themselves from the heat of their target's attacks.

He did not look like a normal human, instead, he looked as if a mix of human and fish, especially like a shark human.

He was Kisame Hoshigaki, otherwise known well by his moniker, the tail-less tailed beast.

Originally a member of the seven ninja Swordsmen of the mist, he become a rogue nin sometime after the civil war in Kiri started.

Joining Akatsuki not much later as he now faced against his opponent, Roshi of the Raging Volcanoes.

[Water Release : Great Tsunami]

Kisame clapped both his hand, releasing no less chakra than what Roshi had released as a huge amount of water doused the entire area with incredible force.

Humongous amount of water collided against the red hot molten lava, releasing a lot of steam as lava cooled down and water heated up.

Kisame, swam through the ocean of water he just created like a speeding bullet as he made his way towards Roshi, who was still standing submerged in water, his trusted shark skinned sword swimming by his side.

*BooommmM!!*

But as soon as Kisame neared him, a huge amount of chakra pressure was released by Roshi.

His skin started turning yellowish orange as if it was molten metal, the water around him turned into vapour as soon as it came in contact with his skin, creating a hydrophobic bubble around him.

Roshi, who chose extreme offensive as the best defense, lunged towards Kisame like a super cavitating torpedo.

'Thats not good' Kisame thought as he swam to dodge while forming seals in his hands, it was his first time being being defeated at his own water games, still, the fight had only started right now.

As both Kisame and Roshi collided with each other, Kisame's partner, the traitor of uchiha - Itatchi looked at the fight ongoing with keen interest even though it was a bit dim and blurry for him.

He stood atop a giant black raven high up in the sky as he occasionally released some A rank jutsu's to help Kisame but to no avail.

Roshi's Lava nature surpassed his normal fire natured attacks, outclassing them as he stood mostly undamaged through them.

It was a bad matchup for him, unless he summon his full susanoo and exposed the unique treasures he possessed, he would be hardpressed to defeat a Jinchuriki like Roshi, who almost had full control of his Jinchuriki powers.

And that was something he needed to avoid as each time he used the strongest ability of the Mangekyo eyes, the Susanoo, his vision and ocular powers decreased by a significant margin.

As such, he only provided support in form of creating openings for Kisame to attack, not exactly being useful while still 'contributing'

The fight had just started, and as every fight does between Kage level enemies, it was nowhere near to decide a winner just yet.

After passing through the desert that seemed endless, Hiro and Kurenai made their way into the village of Sunagakure.

It was Hiro's second time coming to this place yet he was astonished by the beauty of this place again, the anime and manga had really did this place dirty.

Sunagakure was located right on top of 6 natural oasis that were grouped together and weren't located that much apart.

With the use of ninjutsu and clever city planning, the 'village' of Sunagakure had become one of the most beautiful pieces of human architecture in this world.

Using the inherent rocky terrain that laid beneath the yellow sands and the clever use of ninjutsu, it was made into a fortress city that held a lot of beauty inside it.

The city looked like to be inspired from the middle eastern style of architecture that Hiro was familiar with from his previous life

But because of the presence of the superhuman labour force of ninjas, Suna had been made into a city/fortress that even one upped the capital of land of Wind.

Huge palaces outlayed with gold, huge amount of residential space amd the existence of the biggest market in the world. All this with towering walls that were atleast a couple dozen feet thick protecting the city along with the presence of an entire Shinobi culture inside.

It held the title of the 'Impenetrable Fortress' as it was the only 'village' that has never been successfully invaded by any other force.

Konoha was also up that list until Suna successfully breached Konoha with Orochimaru's help and attacked with a significant force during the chunin exam not so long ago.

The reason why was pretty simple, beyond the demon desert checkpoint, starts the 'Sea of hallucinations', the place where Suna was located.

Surrounded by nothing but Sands that were infested with multiple species of A ranked chakra beasts, mainly, Scorpions, snakes, cats, camels and foxes.

The entire vicinity was riddled with Hallucinogenic toxins due to centuries of these chakra beasts living here, making it exceptionally hard to make it to Suna if they didn't want you to.

As for how could such a place be habitable for humans, the reason was the first Kazekage, with the use of the One Tails and his 'Demonic Sands', he had contracted each and every chakra beast species in the vicinity and made a pact with them.

The details of the pact were unknown, the general consensus became that the beasts will not attack the residents of Suna and a certain few routes that were used for trading and other purposes .

Of course this was peace time, as soon as major world war started, trade routes were closed up and these beasts turned into protectors of the Suna.

Hence, making Suna an impregnable fortress.

"The view never gets old no matter how much I look at it" Hiro said as he saw contrast of rich greenery along amd the desert look of the place.

The Jonin in charge of looking over the eastern gate looked at both Hiro and Kurenai's Konoha badge as a disdainful expression came upon his face.

Despite that, he passed on the papers to Hiro and Kurenai as he said "Take it, your stay has been approved by Kazekage, try to blend in and not cause trouble"

Hiro who knew what was going on took the paper from the man as he said "Sure" and then turned around and left with Kurenai before the scene could escalate.

Ever since the harsh negotiations done after Suna's invasion of Konoha, Huge reparations were being paid to Konoha by them, Konoha had become the general outlet of Sunagakure's anger for their current situation.

Due to the negotiations, Suna had went into an economic recession worse than what they had ever seen, if not for the huge gold reserves of the 'Royal Family', i.e., Kazekage's family and the economic genius of Gaara, Suna might have already fell apart.

Every loyal Suna Shinobi had swore to share the burden of reparations to Konoha together with Gaara. Also, loyal or not, tax rates had almost doubled.

From their perspective, all of their hard earned money was going to konoha for free, as such, people of suna hated Konoha people with passion.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do" Hiro said as he took off his Konoha Jonin badge off his belt and kept it inside his storage.

"What's rome?" Kurenai, who also did the same with her badge said as she looked at Hiro with a puzzled expression.

"Its nothing, just an ancient place that got destroyed, I'll tell about it some time later, we should go and meet Guy-san first" Hiro said as he used transformation jutsu to change his getup into a much more traditional style to blend in easily.

"Damn you look good" Hiro said as he looked at Kurenai's transformation and teased her a bit.

"Shut Up"

They had become increasingly casual with each other during their journey together.
