"AGH!!!" Mirko yelled as she glanced back, noticing the absolute monster that was following them.
No, it wasn't fully visible. Mostly, they could just see its shadow, hidden in the dark except for its distinguishable features rushing toward them at an enormous speed.
As they ran, the shadow grew closer and closer, but something strange was happening.
Alex expected the shadow to catch up and force them into a fight, but it didn't. It wasn't gaining on them at all—it just remained a looming presence, trailing behind.
