A Dangerous Dance

~Rosa's P.O.V.~

I was really excited because while I was at the library earlier, I uncovered something about my families past and was waiting for Asaki to return but when I looked at the time, I noticed it was past midnight. So, I decided to head out and see where she was, I used the forest as my guide and headed out to see her walking with Hiro towards the dorms and I ran over to her. 

Rosa: "Asaki!! Are you ok??" 

Asaki: "Rosa yea I'm fine thanks to Hiro."

Hiro: "Well I see you're in good hands, so I'll leave little princess."

Asaki: "Don't call me a princess!!"

He just laughed and ran off and I looked at Asaki who was looking in his direction mad and I smiled knowing that they might be great partner's someday. Then I noticed a white dove flying to me and I reached out my hand and it landed on the palm of my hand and I noticed that it had an envelope between its beak. So, I took it out and the dove moved to my shoulder while I helped Asaki back into our room and getting both her and the dove some food. 

Rosa: "Here this will help regain your energy."

Asaki: "Thanks Rosa you're really a good friend."

Rosa: "Your welcome and I'm happy to hear that Asaki."

She nodded and started eating while I fed the dove the bread, I had brought for her and I made a little bed for her so that she could rest while she was here. 

Asaki: "What's that?"

She said indicating the envelope that the dove had brought me, and I was curious as well so I opened it to see that it was a letter from my mother.

Rosa: "It's a letter from my mom."

Asaki: "So she got your letter."

I nodded and read the letter that was in the elf language and smiled when my mom said that she missed me dearly as did my little sister Melody and that she can't wait for me to come home. She also told me that when we meet our mates for the first time, we don't know it however when we can't forget them then it means that they are meant for us. Since our love is different than everyone else's we only love one person and that's all when we find our mate it's like finding our other half and Yuri's face come into my head and I blushed. 

Rosa: "Uh-ho..."

Asaki: "What??"

Rosa: "I think Yuri is my destined mate..."

Asaki: "What makes you say that??"

Rosa: "According to my mother - when we meet our mates for the first time, we don't know it however when we can't forget them then it means that they are meant for us. Since our love is different than everyone else's we only love one person and that's all when we find our mate it's like finding our other half - so she's thinking that Yuri might be the one I'm destined to be with...."

Asaki: "Well if that's true then I guess you'll be with him."

Rosa: "I don't even like the guy he's a dick-head..."

Asaki: "It's your customs' Rosa."

I sighed knowing that it was going to be a long year and that I knew I had to be prepared for when the time came that would bring the two of us together. I sighed and started to pet the dove my mother had sent, and I wrote her a reply letter telling her that I understood but also telling her that I didn't know what creature he was. 

Rosa: "Hey Asaki do you know what creature Yuri is??"

Asaki: "Yea he's a vampire but that's all I know about him."

Rosa: "Thanks and its ok he seems to be more of a loner than anything... the only person I've seen him with is Hiro..."

Asaki: "Yea I feel sorry for him."

I nodded in agreement and finished my letter and then laid it where the dove could easily pick it up and leave once its rested and then I walked over to my bed and crashed. I woke up late the next day since it was Saturday and it was our day off from school and we could relax. I got up and told Asaki that I was heading to the forest to check on the plants and the tree's and she said that if I needed her to call her. I nodded and headed out however I didn't expect to see Yuri there looking like he was waiting for something and I looked at him confused. When he saw me, he smiled and walked over to me and I blushed remembering what my mother had said but then controlled my emotions and hide away the blush.

Yuri: "Listen I wanted to apologize for before I didn't know you were an elf, I'm sorry..."

Rosa: "You should have realized by the cloths I wear."

Yuri: "Yea and for that I'm sorry..."

Rosa: "It's alright."

Yuri: "No its not at least let me make it up to you??"

Rosa: "How?"

Yuri: "By taking you to the dance."

Rosa: "You don't have to..."

Yuri: "I want to, I want to get to know you better to make up for my blunder... please?"

I sighed and nodded and started for the flowers and looking at them I noticed that Yuri was watching me, but I put it at the back of my mind and keep doing my check.

Rosa: "What do you want?"

Yuri: "I want to know more about you."

Rosa: "Then ask questions don't just stand there."

Yuri: "Right..."

He started asking all kinds of questions about me and my family and I answered all his questions until the sun started setting and we said our good-byes and I realized that I hadn't asked him anything about himself. So I decided to ask him about himself during the dance which reminded me I had to get a dress and that was going to be fun....not. So I headed back to my room that I shared with Asaki to see her getting ready for bed and when I told her about what happened she was surprised.

Asaki: "So he said that he would be taking you to the dance??"

Rosa: "Yea as an apology for what he said before he said that he was taking me to the dance weather I liked it or not."

Asaki: "So what's the problem?"

Rosa: "I don't have a dress for the dance."

Asaki: "I guess we either need to go shopping for one or have your mom send you one."

I nodded but put it to the back of my mind as I got ready for bed and then headed to bed, and I couldn't help but think of Yuri, so I dreamed about him and the dance. It was weird for me when I woke up the next day since I had always thought of him as a pain, but I guess all boys were like that. When I talked to Asaki about it she said that she didn't know either since she never had a boyfriend or a guy friend before. I sighed in defeat knowing that it was going to be a long time before I would be able to understand boys of any age... even my dad was weird.

Rosa: "Man we need a guidebook for boys."

Asaki: "Yea we do..."

We both started laughing knowing that no one knew how to make a guidebook for boys since no one could understand boys and when they do the boys always do something to surprise you. So I got up and started getting ready for the day ahead of me I couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen. My father would always say that I would always know when something bad was to happen before it even happened. So I looked around wondering what was going on and Asaki looked at me confused and when I told her about it, she said that it was probably nothing to serious. So I just put it to the back of my mind and continued with my day wondering what we were going to do today. Asaki decided that we should go into town and get out dresses for the dance, so we set out and headed to the mall and then to the dress store. When we walked in, we smiled at the dresses and began to pick out ones we might want and after a few hours we found the ones we wanted. Asaki came out wearing a beautiful long white dress with sparkles all over and pure white roses. I told her that she should get the dress for the dance and she said that she would since she really liked the dress but now, she didn't know what to go with it. I picked out one of my dresses and put it on and then walked out and when I did a lot of boys stopped and stared kinda like they did with Asaki when she came out. I was wearing a dress that started off light green at the top but then darkened to a dark green at the bottom and has roses all around the bottom. I also had on dark green three inch. high-heeled heels with roses on the front of them and I knew exactly how I would accessories this outfit. Asaki was looking at me shocked and I smiled at her she had already got her dress paid for and was waiting for me to find my dress.

Asaki: "Wow you need to buy that dress it fits you to a tee."

Rosa: "You think so??"

Asaki: "Yes I do."

Rosa: "Ok I'll buy it then."

Asaki: "Good and I think I know who's gonna jaw drop at seeing you."

Rosa: "Who??"

Asaki: "Yuri."

I blushed looking at her and she smiled and then I paid for my dress and things and then we left however I felt that someone was watching me but when-ever I looked around I didn't see anyone. When we got back to the school and to our dorms, we hung up our dresses and I got out my jewelry box and fashioned a rose necklace that my mother had given me and sung a rose from the potted plant that I had in my room. I left the rose in the pot since I had nowhere else to put it until the dance and I smiled at seeing my dress come together. I noticed Asaki pull out a small necklace with a beautiful blue stone that looked like water and a couple of purple Irises and lay them down on the table. We had a few more hours until the dance started so we went and took a long hot shower to relax ourselves from our daily activities. When we got back to our rooms we got into our gowns and I placed a red clip into my hair pulling it back a little and then placed the rose I had grown into my hair. I strapped on my green heels with roses on the front and then I grabbed the necklace my mother had given me and put it on it stopped it the middle of my chest. Then I stood up and looked at Asaki to see that she was also dressed and ready to go and I smiled at her as she did to me and then we headed down to the ballroom. We meet Yuri at the entrance to the girl's dorm and just like Asaki had said his mouth dropped when he saw me, and I just smiled at him.

Rosa: "Close your mouth or flies might go in."

Yuri: "Sorry I couldn't help it you look really beautiful... so does Asaki..."

Rosa: "Thank you."

Asaki: "Yea thanks."

He just smiled and we started for the ballroom again and we talked the entire way there and we were all laughing when we got there, we could hear music blaring from the room.

Asaki: "I guess they already started playing the music."

I nodded and then we gave the doorman our tickets and then we entered the ballroom since you could only get in with a ticket, so it made it a lot easier to keep out those that didn't belong. Yuri pulled me onto the dance floor, and we danced the night away and when I remembered Asaki I looked over at her. I noticed by the wall clock that we had been here for nearly four hours and I also noticed that Hiro was standing behind her and before I could say anything, he started talking to her.

Hiro: "Hey well isn't it the princess. Do you dance?"

I couldn't hear what he had asked her, but I noticed that he held out his hand to her and after waiting a long moment she smiled and said something to him, and I could barely hear it over the music.

Asaki: "Yes, I do dance do you even got a sense of rhythm Hiro??"

She said after she had taken his hand and started to head to the dance floor, and I could see that she was happy although she was acting like she wasn't. 

Yuri: "They make a good match, don't they?"

Rosa: "Yea but don't let her hear that."

We both started laughing and continued to dance and then the music changed to 'You're still the one by Shania Twain' and Yuri pulled me close to him and wrapped his arms around my waist. So I wrapped mine around his neck smiling and I noticed that he didn't let his hands go any further than where he had placed them. However none of us expected what happened when the middle of the song came, I was talking with Yuri when all of a sudden I heard a class breaking and looked towards the sound.
