Chapter 18: Jealousy

Artemis' POV

Somehow, I manage to survive the first two weeks within the Silver Moon pack. After the confrontation with Willow, she started avoiding me and I've decided that keeping away from each other may be the best option.

I concentrate on my mission. As long as I'm not clear on how to assassinate Beck, the best I can do is try to comply with Baltazar's orders, even if only half-heartedly.

"Where is everyone going?" I ask Ben as I finish breakfast. I hold up a cup of tea and sip the hot liquid as Ben chokes down a plateful of pancakes with the intention of darting off after the rest of the group hurrying out of the compound.

"Today is assignment day," Ben says as he gulps down his orange juice. "Today, Beck and Willow assign the chores for the rest of the month. If I don't hurry up and get there, I'll get some horrible tasks like cleaning the toilets or something. I’d recommend you hurry up too," he tells me.

"Why do I have to do it?" I ask.
