"Vicki, aren't you sleepy?"
Vicki Cassia sniffed and said in a sticky voice, "Gerald, I miss mommy."
She paused and sobbed, "Where on earth did mommy go?"
These days, they met a lot of people, including Uncle John and auntie Selina. They all kept silent about mommy's whereabouts and only said that she was on a business trip.
But they didn't believe it. Their mommy would never leave them for such a long time.
Something must have happened to mommy.
Gerald said in a low voice, "Go to bed early today. Let's skip classes tomorrow and go to find mommy together, okay?"
"Really?"
"Do you think I have lied to you?"
Vicki quickly pulled up the quilt until half of her face was covered by it, only revealing a pair of big round eyes.
"Don't worry. I will sleep well."
As soon as she finished speaking, the door suddenly opened.
Wendy poked her head in and looked at the two people with a pout. "Who said that she would skip classes and go out tomorrow?"
