It has been a few days since Abraham had gone to the soul room. He got into the room a few more times, but still, he could not find the source of the noise. what was most intriguing to Abraham was the feeling of Deja Vu.
Abraham has also spent these few days training Albus, Ginny, and Quinn. After their first workout, Abraham had given them a day off to rest and let their bodies heal. But after that, they have trained continuously for the next two days.
On top of that, Abraham spent most of his time with his family.
However, today was different.
It was the time of the week that Albus and Ginny had to report back for duty. As the original members were sent to this planet, their lives were a lot easier but they were still required to do some hunting now and then. Whenever the duo had to leave, Quinn would be sent to one of their neighbors.
Taking this free time, Abraham decided to walk along the road of the settlement and see if he could put some of his plans to work.
Leaving the apartment, Abraham was back at the playground where he first met Albus. Abraham watched the children as they ran around, laughing and playing on the playground equipment. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of nostalgia as he remembered his days as a teacher.
That was such a distant past when life was easy in his previous life. During the time when Abraham was plotting revenge and living on the street, only the hope and memories of these children would keep him going.
With all those past memories, Abraham could feel his eyes becoming a little bit wet. He quickly wiped it and moved on to another location.
Abraham arrived near the main gate to leave the settlement. A few metres away, travellers have set up their counters and displayed all their items.
As Abraham entered the marketplace, he was greeted by a myriad of sights and sounds. Vendors were shouting their wares, each was eager to catch his attention. There were beast crystals and armours around.
Abraham had two skills that were really helpful in this situation. He used his dragon eyes to navigate and the Inspect Skill from the system to examine all the items. Most of them were at the level of basic with a few at intermediate. For them, these weapons and armours were helpful but to someone like Abraham, it was just like ordinary items.
Abraham found himself enjoying the lively atmosphere of the marketplace. Apart from the beast's items, there were basic needs that were being sold.
A sudden loud noise of someone falling caught Abraham's attention. Immediately, a group was formed around a certain spot.
Abraham quickly walked towards the commotion and as he got closer, he saw a traveler on the ground and immediately recognized the man standing in front of the traveler. It was the same man who had collided with Abraham earlier. Abraham knew what happened as the man had tried the same thing against Abraham.
Abraham stepped forward, confronting the man. "What's going on here?" he asked sternly. The man turned to face him, a scowl on his face. "Mind your own business," he growled.
"YOUU, you are .." even though Abraham's face was still hidden from the hood, the man was able to recognize Abraham due to the cloth he was wearing.
Without any warning, Abraham just threw a very light punch and hit the man in his face.
The man was known as Dan. Like every gangster, Dan was a very careful man when choosing his target. He would only blackmail innocent low-level travelers to get some credit. Together with a few other rogues like him, they were "ruling" the streets of Tellus. With the war in the final stage, the military could not bring justice and order to every planet. Since Dan started his activities on the streets of Tellus, it was the first time someone fought back.
At first, Dan was very careful of Abraham as the last time when he tried to throw Abraham on the ground, he was unsuccessful. He immediately associated Abraham as a high-level ability user. But just now, the punch Dan received was the complete opposite. It was so weak, that he only felt a slight tingling effect on his face.
Dan was burning with anger, but the hooded man was nowhere to be found.
"Tell me where that man went right now if you want to remain alive." Dan just grabbed the nearby traveler. Feeling the wrath of Dan, the trembling traveler pointed toward the deeper region of the settlement.
Following the direction indicated by the traveler, Dan saw the hooded man running.
"You little sh*t, I'm going to teach you a lesson today. Follow me guys." Dan and his two other subnoties started pursing Abraham.
Just some a 100 meters in front, Abraham was jogging lesurely. If a person could see Abraham face right then, the person would get the scares of his life. Abraham had a huge devilish smile on his face.
The dragon's eyes continued to prove its utility. Using it, Abraham went to a desseted alleyway where there was not any aura.
The alleyway was dark with a dead end. The ground was uneven with weeds and moss growing around. The air in the alleyway was stale and musty, and Abraham could smell the dampness of the walls and the decay of the vegetation. Abraham had to reduce his speed to allow Dan and the two by his side to catch up to him.
When the three gangsters reached the alleyway, the scene in front of them was the total opposite of what they expected.
Dan's face contorted in confusion as he saw Abraham's expression. Instead of seeing a scary Abraham in front of them, Abraham was casually leaning against the wall smiling at them. Dan couldn't help but feel a tinge of unease, wondering if Abraham had some hidden tricks up his sleeve.
He hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to proceed, but then quickly regained his composure. He took a step closer to Abraham and sneered, "What's so funny, huh? You think you're tough? You're just a little punk, and you're about to regret crossing us." Despite his tough talk, Dan couldn't shake off the strange feeling that something was off about Abraham's demeanor.
"It appears that you've misunderstood the situation. I'm not trapped with you all; it's actually the other way around."
