"Who is she?"
"Where did she pop up from?"
The crowd looked on with contemptuous glances at Amanda Jenkins, but Lucas Griffin, standing above on the balcony, slightly curved his handsome eyes upwards.
Jonas Jox was even more thrilled, feeling relieved as a weight was lifted from his heart. Although Brother Kirin didn't verbally blame him, it was his arrangement that had gone awry, and he was relieved that Amanda Jenkins had still arrived.
Meanwhile, Gavin Jenkins, upon seeing his disappointing eldest daughter, had an even more unsightly expression, "Don't come here to embarrass us any further! Go back now!"
Amanda Jenkins ignored Gavin Jenkins and walked onto the T-stage as if no one else were present.
"Amanda, you finally made it." The tears that Jesslyn Derei had been holding back finally fell as she bit her lip in a pitiful manner.
"Don't worry," Amanda Jenkins said with a gentle smile, raising her hand to wipe away Jesslyn Derei's tears.
She turned to face the diverse gazes of the crowd, straightened her back, and stood protectively in front of Jesslyn Derei. With neither cringing nor arrogance, she spoke out loud, "The guests here tonight are all either rich or of high status. It's rather unbecoming to press so insistently!"
The middle-aged man who had just targeted Gavin Jenkins stepped forward, pointing angrily at Amanda Jenkins, "Who is this wild girl who has sprung from nowhere? Do you know where you are? You have no place to speak! Get down from there right away!"
Amanda Jenkins lifted her smile, "My name is Amanda Jenkins. I am the Jenkins Family's eldest daughter. Here I have an invitation gold card given to me by Young Master Griffin, Lucas Griffin." Amanda Jenkins took out the gold card, her eyes pridefully fixating on the middle-aged man below, "Now tell me, do I have the right to stand here and speak? Or do you, sir, suppose that Young Master Griffin lacks the authority to invite guests?"
A stir went through the crowd below.
Lucas Griffin, the future successor of Griffin Group—who would dare to offend him?
The middle-aged man was taken aback, speechless from Amanda Jenkins's retort.
Amanda Jenkins's gaze swept over the crowd, "Tonight, what everyone is buying is the design rights from the Jenkins Family, not this single dress. There's no need to obsess over a small stain."
Her lively eyes glanced around, and soon she saw a white-haired old man at the head table. With a sweet smile, she said, "I believe that with Mr. Griffin's generosity and compassion, he won't be angry over this small mistake of ours."
Since Mr. Griffin was mentioned, who would dare to pursue the matter further? Everyone closed their mouths and said no more.
"Grandfather Griffin, I apologize for presumptuously coming here and causing a disturbance. I hope you can give me a chance to make up for my mistake," Amanda Jenkins said, bowing slightly towards Benjamin Griffin's direction, her demeanor befitting that of a well-educated young lady.
Benjamin Griffin had a kind expression on his face and nodded slightly.
With Benjamin Griffin's approval, everyone began to see Miss Jenkins, who they had never met before, in a new light.
Although she was dressed simply, the courage and temperament that emanated from her surpassed all the wealthy young ladies present in their lavish clothing.
"To remain composed in such a situation, showing bravery, wit, and the smarts to use Brother Kirin as a shield, her few words not only countered that man but also flattered the elder. This girl is indeed quite suitable to be the Griffin family's future mistress," Jonas Jox nodded in approval, then added with some concern, "But, how is she going to make up for it?"
Lucas Griffin lifted the corner of his lips slightly, "She'll manage."
"Although Amanda Jenkins hides her abilities, the dress is now dirty, and there is no material at the scene, how can she change the design? Aren't you worried, Brother Kirin?"
"What's there to worry about?" Lucas Griffin said indifferently, "Even if she can't handle the situation, so what?"
He didn't care whether or not Amanda Jenkins had the ability, nor was he concerned about whether she could perfectly resolve the current predicament.
Even if she was so foolish that there was no cure, all he knew was that Amanda Jenkins was his, Lucas Griffin's, woman.
Even if she caused a huge trouble, so what?
Amanda Jenkins came down from the T-stage and approached the middle-aged man, "Sir, may I borrow the red wine in your glass for a moment?"
The middle-aged man glared at Amanda Jenkins with annoyance but still handed over his stemmed glass.
"Thank you." Amanda Jenkins took the wine glass and returned to the runway, only to place the glass on the ground.
Just when everyone was unsure of what Amanda Jenkins was about to do, she suddenly crouched in front of Jesslyn Derei, grabbed the hem of the dress, and gave it a forceful tear—
Shhhh—! Shhhh—!
The white hem of the dress was torn off in several pieces by Amanda Jenkins, and the dress instantly became much simpler.
Amanda Jenkins wrapped the torn fabric around Jesslyn Derei's waist, and with nimble fingers twisted it a few times at the front side of the waist, creating a pristine white flower out of nowhere.
A murmur rose from the audience; in just a short two minutes, with a few simple moves, Amanda Jenkins had completely transformed the flavor of the dress.
It was like magic!!
Just when everyone thought it was over, Amanda Jenkins picked up the wine glass.
Her pale fingers dipped in the red wine, she gently sprinkled it onto the white dress.
The white dress bloomed with red hues, like plum blossoms bursting forth amidst the snowy cold.
She turned back with a provoking look at the middle-aged man who had humiliated the Jenkins family, then poured the remaining red wine in the glass entirely onto the flower at the dress's waist.
In an instant, a vividly enticing red flower came alive at Jesslyn Derei's waist, shimmering with a bewitchingly glossy luster under the lights.
The guests below the stage were left dumbfounded.
Amanda Jenkins looked toward the crowd and smiled radiantly, "OK, all set!"
Applause erupted suddenly, and the face of the middle-aged man had become extremely unsightly.
"It's perfect!" A man clapped his hands as he walked onto the runway,
Amanda Jenkins was surprised to see the visitor; he was exquisitely dressed, and despite being a man, he wore a touch of makeup on his face.
It was none other than Mister Casey, the fashion editor of a top fashion magazine.
Mister Casey was the hottest fashion critic, the most stylish and the most venomous with his words. Coming from a background in fashion design, his opinions carried significant influence in the entertainment and fashion industry.
Mister Casey approached with his pinky finger raised, his steps enchantingly graceful, as he circled Jesslyn Derei repeatedly, nodding and praising incessantly.
"I really wasn't fond of the initial design, burdened with too much lace, organza, and pearls, cluttered and without structure, flashy but insubstantial. This alteration, however, is quite astounding, shedding the complexity of the skirt and the excess pearls at the waist, adds a pure and elegant quality. And with this splash of red wine, truly original—the red wine-stained flower is like the proud and solitary winter blossom, surprisingly exquisite, dignified, perfect!"
Mister Casey didn't give comments lightly, so with these words, Amanda Jenkins' design had undoubtedly received the highest commendation.
"Such a fine child," Mister Casey's gaze shifted to Amanda Jenkins as he smiled warmly, reaching out a hand, "I hope to have the opportunity to cooperate with you in the future."
Amanda Jenkins was caught off-guard, stunned by Mister Casey's praise and took a while to come back to her senses.
Only when Jesslyn Derei gently nudged her did she hurriedly extend her hand, "Mister Casey, you flatter me."
"Oh, the child is modest too, where has that commanding presence from just now gone?" Mister Casey reached out and pinched Amanda Jenkins' face, "I quite liked your attitude earlier."
It was widely rumored that Mister Casey preferred the company of his own sex, so this gesture seemed unremarkable to others, but to Lucas Griffin, it was a blatant flirtation.
Jonas Jox nervously glanced at Lucas Griffin and then sympathetically at Mister Casey in the distance, shaking his head helplessly.
It seemed that tonight, Anastasia Jenkins wouldn't be the only one unlucky...
