My Summons are Broken ( Necromancer Novel)

Two realms beckon to those adventurous enough to journey between them. One is desolate, where the greatest peril lies in the trappings of civilization itself. The other is a paradise teeming with abundant resources, yet it conceals a dark secret. It is inhabited by beasts, demons, and nightmarish entities from the abyss—the very pets of the Eternal of Destruction—wreaking havoc across its pristine landscapes. Having met his end on Earth, Aamon finds himself reborn, perhaps for the umpteenth time. However, this time, his purpose is divinely ordained by the gods themselves: to confront the one whose malevolent gaze has finally turned toward their worlds.

Prologue over 1.5

It was the next day when my memories returned. Word to self, constantly reincarnating yourself has consequences. I am no longer Primordial Death nor am I the Death Eternal Syir. I am now a mixed mess. I have some memories of my past lives, but not enough to change me from Aamon.

I still love the Gerald family though we aren't blood-related. However, if Eli or Ishmael try me again, I may make a few calls and have them reincarnated as frogs in their next lives. I could do it.

Whatever. The good thing is I remembered why I came to this plane. My love, Rose was the reincarnation of the "human" lover I took thousands of years ago. Before you say I'm a creep, she cursed me to follow her wherever she went. Another note to self, if a pretty woman is really into you, there's a big chance she may be the Primordial of Sirens. Take it from me, fellas, ugly women are a safe bet. Maybe not... Zeus can be a freaky man.

I wasn't sure if Rose had gotten her memories before I did, but it would be a tad bit awkward bringing it up. "Hey Rose, did you know that you're my long-lost lover from thousands of years ago, and I followed you like a creep?"

That sounds like a good reason for August to remove my head. All's not bad, I received a lot of my skills as a primordial. Soon I should rise a powerful figure and battle the shithead who doesn't know how to take no for an answer. Yeah, you would think people with ridiculous amounts of power wouldn't destroy entire planes over a woman who isn't interested in the least bit. If you did think it, you thought wrong.

I couldn't stare at the ceiling all day even if I wanted to. God living like royalty is nice. Word to self, make sure my home in the realm of the dead has pillows made from silk and stuffed with the feathers of the phegor bird.

Breakfast was the usual. I greeted the old man (I didn't call him old to his face) and ate something exquisite. Then I was called to the throne room. From the looks on everyone's faces, shit was pretty serious. Yeah, I curse like a drunk bard. Got an issue with it? Don't care. I am literally death. Maybe not now but...

August, Mikael, and a few other non-important elders sat in their thrones. The rest of the family sat opposite each other with a nice black and silver rug separating both sides. The throne room was put together well. I wonder if the architect would be willing to go to the realm of the dead with me. My palace is so bor-

"Ehm, Aamon. Is there a reason why you are gazing at stars in our presence?" August said. More like roared, but his tone didn't portray that. It was just how powerful he was. I had to give him his props. To be this powerful at this age? He would make a fine Eternal. Wonder if I could conv-"

"Aamon!"

I almost peed a little when I realized it was my old man. "Sorry, Grandpa. It's just that seeing the power of the Gerald family made me starstruck. Please forgive my disrespect." I tried to be as apologetic as possible, even taking a knee and putting my hand across my heart, but that old bat wasn't buying my horse shit.

"Nice save. Get on with it Mikael. One of my wives is ovulating."

Way too much info, old man.

"As I was saying. We called you here for a few reasons. I've realized that I can't watch Rose and be here at the same time. Sending body-strong guards won't work either since it will mutate the monsters around her. What I'm saying is being a necromancer puts a unique target on your back. The Gerald family already has enough enemies. Those religious nuts only need a little reason to breathe down our necks."

I had an idea where this was going, and I couldn't blame them. Hell, I was going to do it eventually. I wasn't meant to be under others. My pride as a primordial couldn't allow it. I mean literally. We are like golems programmed to do what our creator made us for. My creator made me to be an Embodiment of Death. Ruler of everything non-living. I am who gods, Eternals, and even primordials fear.

"You want me to drop the Gerald name," I stated.

"Always a smart boy. You will always be family to us and have our support, but I'm sure you've heard of the necromancer trials. Though necromancers were proven not to be evil in the past, everyone doesn't share that sentiment. They won't just target you-"

I put my hand up to stop him. I didn't need the whole explanation. They weren't strong enough to take on the holy church and others.

"I understand. When I establish my kingdom, I swear on my life the Gerald family has my full support. As long as things remain how they are. And I could marry Rose without any issues."

"Establish your own Kingdom? Very bold words, but if it is you, I'm sure you can do it. I pray we never cross paths as enem- What did you say!"

August looked like he was going to explode. Grandpa laughed so hard he had to hold his stomach. I turned back to the children to see what they had to say. Of course, Ishmael looked like he'd kill me where I stood. Eli remained stone-faced as ever, but Rose looked like she was going to burst into tears.

This didn't mean our paths departed. I was sure I was going to see them- her a lot, but not as I used to. There were too many eyes and mouths. Soon it will be known that another necromancer was around. But am I simply another necromancer? They would find out soon enough.

 ******

It was night time when I finished packing my belongings. Everyone had said their goodbyes but I assured them they would see me around. Rose had to put on a strong front for her father, but I was sure the crybaby's pillow would be soaked.

The only person who waited around was the old coot who'd aged since the last time I saw him. Word would get around that I was no longer a part of the Gerald family and they would be safe from the church's ire, but I couldn't be seen with them again for a while. Seen with my grandpa... for a while.

Grandpa Mikael walked me to the gate - in silence. His pained face only made my stomach twist. It wasn't like I was dying, but leaving them is what it felt like.

"Son, you are the best thing that happened in my life. I can't have children, and heaven sent me a boy to be proud of. A damn primordial!"

Yeah, the old man was going crazy. He looked like an evil villain laughing about his diabolical plans.

"When you rise to power, the world is going to bend a knee! God, I can't wait." He stopped his jumping around and looked me in the eye with a gaze that melted my heart. A tear fell from my chin.

When was the last time I'd cried?

" I love you, boy. Give the world hell and when the Eternal of destruction comes, give 'em a nice kick in the rear!"

" I'm going to spank him like a baby gramps…"

I couldn't find the words to portray my love for the old man. I settled for a tight hug and a few sniffles. Then, I left the compound, taking one last look back as prepared for what was ahead of me.
