Devour was exactly what he needed. Over time, it would make up for his weak skeleton body. The skill at level one allowed the user to eat the bones, since he was a skeleton, of a slain enemy to integrate their stats into your own. The only thing was, the chances at level one were incredibly low at a measly one percent. This would change over time as the skill leveled up, but currently it would probably take a while.
He would be testing this skill soon as he saw another skeleton round the corner and coming his way. Before the skeleton could walk past him, he caved its skull in with a well placed swing of his club. The skeleton never stood a chance as it crumbled to the ground as a pile of bones. James just couldn't wait to give the skill a try. He picked up a bone and immediately bit into it, activating his new skill.
The new skill used exactly one mana to activate, but would stay active for a short while so James had to be quick. Stuffing the bones into his mouth and quickly chewing them up, he began to feel their strength assimilate into him. He finally understood what the one percent chance meant. One percent of everything these bones had would be added to him. Over time, this would stack up to an increase in stats, but for now there was only a slight difference.
He continued to eat as fast as he could and when the skill ended, the only thing left was the skull. Activating the skill once again to finish off his meal, he began chow down on the skull. It didn't take long for him to finish it off when he got a system notification.
[1 mana stat gained]
[Achievement Glutton acquired]
[Glutton: Waste not want not. Eating down to the last bite goes hand in hand with the skill Devour. Eating something till nothing is left will provide a bonus.]
James was stunned to say the least, since he didn't plan for this. His goal was merely to not waste anything since it would only benefit him further down the road. Now he could barely contain his excitement as he rushed off the find his next prey.
