"I still can't believe that Brian is a weredragon. When did he shift? He is strong because he is a new shift. He could throw me and break bones, and I hadn't done anything to protect myself."

As Kross spoke, he couldn't deny his wonder and awe at Brian's strength. Jody was listening and thinking about what was happening. Like Kross, she also couldn't believe that Brian was a weredragon. Why didn't Brian tell him that?

"And what I wonder is, why was he angry with me? Did I do something wrong for him to hurt me like that?" Kross asked again. "Is he jealous of me? But that's a different kind of jealousy. He wants to kill me."

Jody sat up, and Kross immediately supported her. Oh, why did you get up?"

She turned to Kross. "Do you think Brian is just a weredragon?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"
