"I've been fighting since I was young and being the one without magic, I've to find other ways to deal with bugs like you." Alex grinned as he waved his hand and took out three more knives. "Shall we see which is faster, you or my knives?"

The four of them took a step back in fear, shivering all over as Alex's smile mirrored in their eyes as a devil's smile.

None of them ever thought that their simple mission to rescue Rades and Valtos while killing a few brats would send them to their graves.

'Where could such a demon like him come from? We think we have an advantage in numbers but he turned the tables on us with a single move... How can we deal with him without our magic?'

They gritted their teeth while cursing their luck.

But just when it looked like it was over something unexpected happened!

A figure appeared at the top of a building covered in golden light.

It appeared out of nowhere with no fluctuations like a ghost.

It raised his hand and a blinding light engulfed everyone.

When everything settled, the three figures had disappeared along with three of five of them, leaving only the dead guy and one of the hooded figures.

Alex already realized that the newcomer was here to rescue his companions so he quickly grabbed one of them while shielding both of them with his sword.

Just as all of them disappeared, rescued by the leader, Alex felt many auras closing in the distance. He sighed and retreated his domain back while knocking out that guy.

"Huh? Where did they go...?" Leopold asked, looking around in surprise.

Alex looked at him and Nozelle, sighing again. "They are rescued by a Light magic user, probably by their boss."

"What?!"

"What happened here?!" 

However, before Alex could reply, the Magic Knights arrived back in the capital with Nozel taking the lead as he asked.

Alex didn't reply just look at Fuegoleon, making everyone else furrow their brows and follow his line of sight.

"W-What...?"

All the captains and the magic knights were startled to see him in that state.

Leopold and Nozelle just stare at the ground, feeling embarrassed and helpless as they are unable to do anything at all.

"ASTA!!" Mimosa ran over to him, hugging him. "I was so worried about you. Are you hurt?"

Alex chuckled at her reaction and patted her head. "Nothing happened to me. It should be my enemies you should be worried about. If not for their boss's interference, I would have captured them all."

"You!... W-What happened here?" Charlotte walked over to Alex and stared at him being intimate with Mimose, feeling slightly irritated for some reason, as she asked.

Alex glanced at her and reported everything that transpired in their absence.

"What?!"

"There are more of them!"

"... and you killed two of them..."

"A light magic user?!"

Everyone exclaimed in shock.

With the captains' help, Fuegoleon was moved to a hospital for treatment.

'This mana...'

While Alex was waiting outside with other magic knights, he felt a magic signature and before he turned around, Julius appeared in front of everyone.

"Sup! I see everything is taken care of..." He greeted everyone with a cheerful smile before he turned to Alex. "And you my boy, you foiled my plan. I was waiting for them to return to their base so I could capture them but you scared them so much that they disappeared."

Alex stared at him and said, "Hmph! If not for that Light Magic user to interrupt me, you will be seeing every one of them locked into cells."

"Hahaha... Yeah, I don't doubt it at all." Julius laughed heartily.

"I see... Despite how strong Fuegoleon is, we don't know when he'll wake up. That was a miscalculation on my part." Julius said, glancing at the hospital where Fuegoleon was getting treated.

"No, it's due to our inexperience," Charlotte said, showing signs of guilt.

"We've confirmed that the pendant Fuegoleon was wearing is missing," Charlotte reported, confusing Julius.

"Pendant?" Julius asked, confused about what that had to do with anything.

"Could that be what they were after? Who in the world could they be?" Charlotte questioned.

"From what they said, they appear to be a terrorist group with a grudge against the kingdom," Julius said. "We'll get the details from our captive later. In any case, people look to the Magic Knights for one thing... Peace in the Clover Kingdom. To preserve that, we'll keep fighting with everything we have." 

"If you'll excuse me," Nozel said as he turned his back, leaving with his two siblings following behind him.

"I think the enemy might have just awakened a sleeping lion." The wizard king smiled over Nozel's anger at having his rival lose an arm.

"Now everyone, seeing the results of today's attack, this kingdom will need you all to get stronger than you currently are."

"We shall become stronger!" Charlotte said making everyone silently agree

*BANG!!*

Leopold who was standing in front of the gate, slammed his fist onto the wall.

"It's me!... It's me who should become stronger." 

He looked at Asta and said. "Asta!... I don't like you at first. But now... I respect you and declare you as my rival."

"I will surpass you and my brother!" Leopold said as he burned the diamond mark on his forehead before declaring. "I'LL BECOME THE WIZARD KING!!"

Alex stared at him and chuckled. "Sure. I'll take you on!"

But soon, he asked. "But anyway, who are you, kid?"

"What?!!" Leopold was surprised by his words, muttering. "After all this time, you want to tell me that you don't me?"

Alex shrugged his shoulders. "Well, you didn't introduce yourself anyway. So, how do you expect me to know you?"

"I'm Leopold Vermillion!" Leopold declared loudly. "As a sign of our friendship, just call me Leo!" 

Hearing their conversations made Sol, Nozelle, and Mimosa giggle, finding it quite cute and funny.

A short while later, Julius gave a public speech about the people who attacked the Clover Kingdom were a terrorist group.

Alex met Yuno and told him to take care of himself before he left with Nozelle and Charmy.

When he returned to the base, he saw Magna and Luck had returned too. They had an adventure of their own where they were able to increase their magic by a little amount.

"Nice job, kid. I heard you got a promotion." Yami patted his back, almost like breaking it.

Alex furrowed his brows slightly, nodding his head. "Yep. I was promoted to Lower Rank, Class 1!"

"Whaaat...?!!" Magna and Luck exclaimed in surprise before Magna asked. 

"So, what's a Lower Rank, Class 1 Knight?" 

"No idea." Luck replied.

Alex's facial muscles twitched, thinking. 'Then why the hell did you idiots look so shocked just a moment ago?'

Yami sighed and explained to them the ranking system.

"... You both know need to treat him with respect."

Pointing at Charmy, he continued. "For your information, Charmy is also a Lower Rank, Class 1."

Charmy rubbed her head, looking pleased. "On your knees bitches!" 

"Whaaat...?!" Luck and Magna exclaimed with the latter even kneeling in front of her.

Yami ignored them and gave Alex a few days to take it easy and rest.

But it seemed fate had something else in store as Finral asked him out for some clubbing.
