A Normal Day

Not now anyway. It was too difficult to keep up with everyone all the time. Too hard. As he continued to run along the path, he suddenly noticed something lying in front of him, covered in green moss and weeds. "What is that?" he mumbled, bending over to pick it up.

Upon seeing it he was momentarily taken aback. It was a large piece of fabric, red in colour. It was very old, very tattered and torn. The boy recognized it immediately. He recognized it all too well. It was his jacket. His beautiful, blue jacket. How could his precious item possibly end up in such a situation?

Where did they even find this? Why were his belongings covered in… with leaves and twigs? It wasn't just any old cloth either. His mother often wore his favourite colours on her clothes, especially on special occasions, so why did his jacket seem to be dirty and torn now? Did they steal it from him?
