Lisa's POV
The sweet scent of the ripe pineapple wafted in the air as Ben opened the windows of his car, and I had to close my eyes to savor the feeling. I tried not to cry because I couldn't stop myself from thinking about my sickness, and I am sure this is one of the things I will miss. I felt Ben take my hand, and I wish he didn't see the tears on my cheeks, and I didn't look at him even if I wanted to see his face. I watched the plantation before my eyes, and all the memories I had with Maya came rushing to me.
We always ran on the fields every time she learned that Adonis and Ariana came to town. We walked for miles in going to the Monleon hacienda. I constantly barked at her because the moment we arrived at the house of Don Miguel, she would directly go and stay on the stable talking with the horses. At the same time, I ended up looking at the hacienda as her spy if Adonis and Ariana were coming to have their rides with their favorite horses.
