Chapter 13

I removed my hands and legs from the loosed rope and tried to run but heard some footsteps approaching so I had to find a way to escape and a very fast way at that. I couldn't think of any possible way so I turned back to sit in the chair I was tied to and wrapped myself with the robe as if nothing had happened.

"I'm bringing you food", a very beautiful lady said as she approached me with a tray with plate. 'How can such a beauty be doing this to her fellow lady?', I thought.

"Can you please help me?", I found myself asking her for help.

"What do you want?", she asked coldly.

"Can you help me get out of this place?", I asked and she just burst into laughter.

"Do you know what you are talking about?", she questioned back after laughing.

"I will pay you twice as that guy is paying you ", I tried to convince her but she wasn't moved. "I can give you thrice of what he's giving you, what about that", I persisted and she seemed to be lost in thoughts.

"And how are you going to get that amount of money?", she asked curiously.

"I have a lot of money in my account, I can even help you travel to a different location if you want"

"Let's say we have a deal then", she finally agreed and I smiled at her. "I'd come for you at 10pm because the boss will be here at 11", she continued and walked away without waiting for any comment from me. I was very happy after she decided to help me out but I had to be sure she isn't pulling a trick so I sat still in the chair waiting for time to move faster.

Time moved faster than expected and very soon, it was already time for the escape. By the time the lady walked in, I was already staring by the window looking out.

"How come you are standing?", she asked surprised since I was tired.

"Can we get moving, this is not the time to ask and answer questions ", I said determined to leave before that insane guy walks in.

"Sure…, this way", she said and led the way out and I followed closely behind her. We moved swiftly through tunnels for a long time before finally getting to a junction. There I realized I was in one of the highest building in the city. She stopped a taxi which I directed straight to my apartment. Sooner than expected, we arrived in front of my apartment and the lady pairs for the ride since I had nothing on me. I heaved a sigh of relief after throwing myself into the couch. I asked the lady of her identity which she refused to tell me. I understood her reasons so I didn't pursue the matter anymore. But she said she was doing such a job in order to cater for her family. After preparing a meal for her, I signed a cheque for her as promised and she advised me not to stay in my apartment that night because Scotts might find me.

I took my bath after she had left and decided to find somewhere else to stay but the only person I was comfortable with was Aikens. I didn't have my phone to contact him so I just had to drive to his house myself to ask if I could spend the night there.

I took my keys from the drawer and drove straight to Aikens house. I pressed the door bell for some time but there was no response so I decided to stay in the car and wait for him to return. I waited for about thirty minutes before he came back and drove into his compound. I immediately drove after him before he locked the gate. He got down from his car and stared at mine for a while. I knew he didn't know I was the one since I hardly use the car. When I decided to walk out of the car, a lady who looked a little younger than me came out of the car from the passenger's seat. I stared at them in shock that tears began to roll down my cheeks.

He walked closer to my car and knocked on the glass since it was fully closed but I refused to rolled down the glass because I didn't want him to see me crying.

"Who's in there?", he said after knocking the second time. I finally rolled the glass to show my face after wiping off the tears and Aikens just stared at me in shock.
