Chapter 45 – Obvious Sign of Danger

We were outside, on the field, practising the Vallo Obstructum spell when suddenly the ground quaked.

The turbulence did not require any high level of mana sensing skill to detect since we all felt the ground shake beneath our feet.

"W-What was th-that!"

"An earthquake?"

"No way!"

"I-It's... n-not... pos-possible..."

Everyone started to worry about this sudden onset earthquake.

Certainly, it was not a natural phenomenon.

"Everyone, calm down."

Miss Dorian, being the teacher and the one responsible for us, took charge of the situation and tried her best to maintain decorum.

"It's going to be fine," she said.

No, it's not.

I looked up to the sky, in the direction that I felt strange mana coming from, only to see a black pillar of mana.

It was not going to be fine if nothing was done.

As far as I could sense, the academy was safe from any threat... for now.
