Chapter 17

At the mention of grandchildren, his smile became even bigger and that was enough for everyone to know that his prayers have been answered.

Even if he didn't get to have a male child to continue his lineage at least he knew his daughter was going to give him a grandson and probably also name the child after him so his name would not be lost after all.

This made the old man so happy that he went to bed that night the happiest man alive, he felt like a teenage boy whose first love had just accepted to be his date for the prom just this time it was his daughter and had never felt so blessed to have her in his life. Not that he didn't love his daughter, just that she reminded him so much of his late wife and so he didn't want to get attached to her least God forbid he losses her just the same way he lost his wife.

Though he wanted a male child he saw Daniella's efforts and they were more than what a male child would have given him though he had never given her credit for being both the male and female child he had in one.

Daniella went to bed that night reminiscing everything that happened that day and wished it would stay like that forever. For the very first time she slept with her mind at ease at least she had gotten her father's validation even if he didn't say it but she felt it and the feeling was foreign yet lovely.

So the day has finally come, on Daniella's list, it showed she had to pick Hendrick up at the junction of his home when she got to his junction he was already there waiting for her which made her impressed because he kept to time and that was one characteristic she loved so much because she was a punctual person and wanted things to be done in time. He got into the car and they took off but not without her complimenting him for his keeping to time, he blushed like he never used to blush, and here he was blushing at just a simple statement from this woman, she suggested they go have some breakfast they stopped at a coffee shop named Wangis. The coffee here was so great, and it was Daniella's morning routine before work, just today was not a working day for her at the office but for her proposal to make Hendrick her husband. The sound of that made her reminisce on yesterday her dad had been the sweetest he had ever been since she was born and if getting married just for a short period would make her enjoy the man she called dad then she was going to do whatever it took to stay on his good side at least for the time being.

She brought out a little diary where she had written everything Hendrick had to do which included him, shaving, shopping getting a new condo for himself and his mother for all she knew her father would want to know where her supposed boyfriend/fiancee and soon to be husband lived and it had to be a believable string she was pulling on her Father.

They finished having coffee and went to the barbershop for a new look for Hendrick.

Damn, she had to clench her legs together, cause the Hendrick she saw in front of her was a hunk to be jumped and she needed all the willpower in her not to pull him into the restroom at the barbing salon for a little something.

She didn't make him notice it though at least that's what she thought Hendrick had noticed she was practically drooling over him but who was he kidding, from the moment he saw her too had wanted to jump her so fast and hard that she was going to call him "Daddy" just how sweet that was going to be if he heard her call him that way.

They left the barbershop each in their private thoughts they drove to the shop called "Men's Club" the store servant was very helpful she brought out different designs of Khakis, shorts, pants, suits, and everything related to men's wear

and if it wasn't that obvious already Hendrick looked crazy handsome and the other ladies who were picking out maybe a gift for their man started eyeing him and this made Daniella want to mark her territory and when she thought of this she shook it off and went close to him and when Hendrick saw the final bill he almost collapsed, were those only on clothes? He pulled her aside and tried telling her to reduce the dressing so the amount would be discounted but she made him understand that if he didn't have this expensive stuff there was no way her father would believe the story they had cooked up so he would give his blessings to their union.

He carried the shopping bags and to the car, they went, Daniella had already made arrangements the previous day for Condos and apartments and they were going to check out the one which looked decent enough for him and his mother.

They called the agent who accompanied them to the go house hunting and they finally found a good looking home which was furnished and all and everything was working out as she had planned the last thing on their list was to sign whatever rules and regulations they were to follow while being married and the time limit as to when everything would be terminated.

On the other hand, Daniella's father was planning a little get-together with his daughter and her supposed fiancee, he called her to inform her to pass by the house when she was done with what she was doing since she made her father know she was having a busy day. He asked about her leg and if she had had anything to eat and if she would want to stop by the house for lunch or dinner so he could ask Mary their cook to make her something to eat. She declined and promised to show up the next day or on Sunday with Hendrick so he would discuss and know him better.
