As I paced around Shayla's house, trying to think of any clues or signs that could help, it suddenly hit me—I had access to the doorbell camera. Shayla had given me the login information a while back when we were setting up extra security. I fumbled for my phone, my hands shaking, and quickly navigated to the app.
Please, Shayla, don't have changed the password.
To my relief, the login was successful. I started scrolling through the recorded footage, my heart pounding in my chest. The latest video was from earlier that day. I hit play, my breath catching in my throat as I saw Shayla opening the door, her face lighting up with a smile that quickly turned into shock.
Standing there was Terrance.
