Goddess of Death

"And what do you think you're doing bringing a half naked man in my shop, Hina?" she asked across the counter in a softly-spoken voice.

I find myself sitting on a chair in front of this counter.

I glance to my side, Hina's sitting beside me.

But she was just carrying me a moment ago!

I tried to remeber what happened before we get here, but I couldn't.

I surveyed my surrounding to figure out where I am right now.

It seems this is some kind of a traditional charm shop.

The woman's merchandises are aligned perfectly, giving me the impression she rarely gets a customer.

"Boss, can you explain this guy's situation?" Hina ask in a brisk manner.

Boss? is this woman some kind of a gang leader?

"I'm sorry for the inconveniences my subordinate may have caused you." The woman slightly bows her head, holding both her hands to her abdomen.

She's tall, her legs are contributing most to her height. Her long, dark ebony hair swayed behind her as the wind enters from the window to our right. Her lips are full, and was radiantly emitting bright red colors, making it more appealing than it already is.

I wonder how I could notice all this when I'm staring at her breast this whole time.

Her traditional red kimono accommodates her mounds which are humbly sitting on her chest. The kimono she's wearing emphasizes her curves, making it hard for me to focus on what she's saying.

"Hayato."

The sudden call of my name made my eyes flick to hers, with surprise and confusion.

How did she know my name?

"My name is Kaguya, I own this shop." she said in a calm manner.

"I'm the Goddess of Death."

Goddess of what now?!

What in the hell is going on?!

But It all makes sense now!

A monster in the body of a girl suddenly appeared in my room, and the monster in question took me here.

That's it!

They're gonna kill me!

"I know you're thinking it's my time but please!" I get off the chair and kneeled as I plead for my life.

"I'm too young to die!!" and with that I broke down.

The woman stand there in silence until she slowly reaches for something under the counter.

This is the end.

She's getting something she can use to end my life!

Is it a gun?!

No.

It's a giant scythe!!

I took a quick glance to Hiina.

She's eating a slice of cake.

She's been eating a cake this whole time!!

Before I could snap, she revealed a pack of cigarettes under the counter.

She lights one.

"I'm not going to do anything to my employee." she blows a sweet trail of smoke.

Employee?

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You are now the owner of Hiina." The woman declares

Owner?!

How could I own a freaking monster?!

I'm just a normal student.

How could she expect me to take in this furball of monstrosity!

"Please, I'm just a student!" I plead once more.

"You have to understand Hayato, you're not just a student anymore." she blows a smoke to her side. "Your soul is bound to Hina's the moment your grandmother died."

That's it! I have to find out what's my grandma have to do with this.

"Why does my grandmother keep a monster?" I ask the woman with a direct tone.

"Hina is not a monster, she's an escort." she calmly state as she avoid my question.

"Yup!" the cream-head follows.

"She's appointed to guide lost souls to the afterlife, so the they can pass away." Kaguya continues.

"Lost souls?" I asked in confusion.

"Souls that are still bound to earth since they're not satisfied with their death."

"Hina's monthly quota is nine, and her deadline is just around the corner." Kaguya concluded.

"I couldn't reach the quota because I was busy taking care of the granny, just so you know!" Hina reasoned to her boss as if she's gonna punish her.

"I understand, I heard you just need one more soul right?" Kaguya assumes.

"That's right." Hina replied.

"So she just need to guide a soul?" I asked.

"Yes." Kaguya answered.

"Then you can count me out." I said with a strong tone.

"You don't understand, Hayato." She finished her cigs and gently puts it on the ashtray sitting on the countertop.

"The passing ritual can't be completed without the escort's human." Kaguya explained

"Failing to comply to their monthly quota will result in the escorts's execution." Kaguya continued.

That's too cruel.

But I guess it would make sense if you're working for the Goddess of death.

But if she's getting executed, and our soul's are bound to each other.

"Wait! that would mean I would die if she dies!" I finally realized.

Suddenly Kaguya smirked.

"It seems you're lucky Hina, you have someone to fill that airhead of yours." Kaguya lets out a chuckle.

Hina glares at her, "Hey!"

"Well I suggest you two hurry and get your final soul." Kaguya remarks but it had authority in its tone.

"Don't worry human! Hina will teach you along the way!" Hina place her hands on her hips confidently, still sitting on the chair.

Kaguya lifts her hand, and snaps her finger.

In a blink of an eye, we're suddenly in an empty hallway.

Did that goddess just somehow teleported us here?!

"Ah!" Hina falls on her rear with a quiet thud since the chair she's sitting on disappeared.

I want this all to be over so bad.

But I guess I have to go along..

For now.
