Side Story: Caste-Ball
[Author note: Side Story chapters are non-canonical (what-if kind of stories) so they don't really have anything to do with the main story.]

It was a sunny wednesday afternoon, it was 12:30, Sports class but it wasn't a typical game of football or rugby.
The students of Class-D were out on the field wearing their sports wears which were mostly white clothes with purple trims that were easy to move in.
'How did they still manage to make sport clothes look ugly.' They thought and turned to Luz who was at the extreme left end of the line, standing next to Vanessa.
"I got you guys." Luz used a Basic Permanent spell and a rainbow sparkle appeared and sprayed dust around them, changing the sports uniform to fit their casual outfits.
"Perfect." They said, satisfied.
Kento faced them as he thought about who to add the extra person to which team. Since there were still fifteen of them because Vanessa had joined them, he had to think of how to share the two teams. The other times, Kuro didn't want to play so they were always equal but now he wanted to try.
"First of all. I need to choose the team captains. Kasami, you're captain of Team X and Yuri, you're captain of Team Z." Kento said and smiled.
"It is an honour, Mr. Kento." The Earth Caster girl bowed
"Whatever." Yuri said non-chalantly.
"You two should come forward." Kento said so and they did, facing opposite each other.
"Here." Kento showed them a coin in his hand.
"I call heads." Yuri said.
"Tails." Kasami said and Kento flipped it into the air, creating a large gust of wind.
"How much power did you put in that?" Staria and Akina asked.
The coin was barely noticable in the sky but someone managed to grab it, it was Vanessa the pink-haired teenage girl.
"What did it land on?" They asked her.
"Heads." She told them.
Yuri and Kasami then got to choosing people.
"Ayato." Yuri chose and his bestfriend smiled as he ran towards him.
"Raine." Kasami went next.
"Kuro." Yuri chose again.
"Staria."
"Arina."
"Serena."
"Zane."
"Zake."
"Luz."
"Akina."
"Vanessa."
"Zuro."
"Sila." Yuri finished with his seventh member and the teams were chosen.

"Today, we're playing Caste-Ball. It's a game much like football except the game is slightly different."
Kento brought out the ball from the compartment bag. It was black in color and a little big and round.
"This ball allows you to hone your Casting into it to make powerful strikes and tackles. Also, Casting is allowed." Kento said that last part with a bit too much excitement as he thought about how Vanessa would use her Casting.
Kento acted as the referee and had put on a couple of green and black overalls with a cap of the same color.
Kento stood in the middle of the two teams. On Team Z, there were three attackers, four defenders and one goal keeper. While for Team X, there were four attackers, two defenders and one goal keeper.

Kento dropped the ball in front of Kasami and she held onto it with the sole of her foot. Kento announced the start of the game with a whistle.
Kasami didn't move yet and no one from Team Z went after her because they couldn't until she moved forward or passed the ball.
After fifteen seconds of waiting, Kasami passed the ball to Akina with a little something special. The ball was enveloped in earth to prevent anyone from touching it but once it got to who she passed it to which was Akina, it disappeared.
Akina ran forward towards their goal but Arina and Ayato stood in her way. Akina saw Zuro go past her towards their goal and thought up a pass.
"Weightlessness!" Akina kicked the ball into the air which began to float twenty feet in the air, out of everyone's reach. Well, not everyone.
"Light Board." A golden, flat, circular platform appeared below a certain orange-haired girl's feet which allowed her to move up into the air.
She was able to grab it when she saw an elongated arm grabbed the ball from the air and pulled their arm back. Arina looked down and saw it was Zuro, who she barely knew due to his quiet behaviour. She went chasing after him with Light Board.
When she got close enough and was about to grab it, Zuro transformed the ball making it as small as a golf ball and passed it to someone else. That person was Serena and when she got a hold of it, she created metal wires around her to protect her from anyone who might try to take the ball.
As Serena headed forward and finally got within striking distance, she kicked the ball towards the goal but Yuri stopped it in time with the help of his Shadow Path which extended outwards and grabbed the ball.
Yuri dropped the ball by his foot and began to move forward and then passed to Luz.
"Here." He said as he gave it to her.
"Thanks, Yuri. Color Sphere." Luz created a forcefield made of rainbow colors around her so no one could touch her. She ran past everyone, not allowing anyone to come near her and she also dodged their Spells.
Luz ran and ran and she was about to head towards the goal when...
*Bam
Luz hit herself on a wall she couldn't see because it was transparent. She saw that Staria was in front of her and had gotten a hold of the ball.
"Kasami!" Staria alerted her team captain and passed her the ball. Kasami got a hold of it with no problem and kept it in her Boulder Fist Spell which she casted when Staria alerted her.
"Fire Casting: Flame Chain." Ayato casted and threw a chain made of flames but Kasami jumped in the air and dived down and went through the ground.
"Earth Casting: Seismic Dive!"
This Spell was her latest one and allowed her to go through the ground. From above, they could only hear a rough vibration sound and some rumbling sounds.
She passed through everyone and was approaching the goal quickly but Kuro interfered.
"Snow Casting: Tundra God's Sword!"
Kuro pushed the sword into the ground, creating an ice path that was moving towards the Earth Caster.
"Ah!!" Kasami underground shouted, seeing the ice approaching her and quickly stopped the Spell and appeared back on solid ground.
The ball on the other hand ended up in the air after escaping Kasami's grasp.
"The ball!" Serena and Ayato jumped into the air but Serena grabbed the ball first after pushing Ayato away.
Serena headed towards their goal in an instant and kicked it towards the goal post.
"Zane, now!" Vanessa screamed and Zane used his Charm. Because of Zane's rewind ability, Kento had to limit his use of it to one Spell. When the said teenage boy heard his name coming from his crush's voice, his face turned red before casting the Spell.
"Checkpoint Casting: Rewind."
The events rewind from when Kasami let go of the ball and stopped there. Zane performed the Spell around the field so it would affect everyone but they would still know that he rewinded time.
As Ayato and Serena rushed towards the ball anyway because of the adrenaline active in them, a certain pink-haired girl had already grabbed it.
"Sila, pass it!" Vanessa threw it out to their goal keeper and Sila used her Repel Spell and passed it to Luz.
Luz kicked the ball and said, "Past Encounter!" And an aura of purple magic surrounded the ball and headed towards the goal.
"Mime Casting: Fake Wall."
Staria recasted her Spell but Luz' Spell broke through the wall and entered the goal post.
"Point to Team Z!" Kento shouted and the members of Team Z erupted into joy.
Yuri looked over at Arina who was smiling and the corners of his lips raised up.
