"I assume this isn't how things were supposed to play out," Bruno muttered in a slightly lowered voice, making sure the retreating prince wouldn't be able to hear him.
"Do you think I would forget to mention Prince coming down to address the masses?" Leo asked, revealing the slightly saltier part of his nature when his lieutenant forced him out of his train of thought.
'Ugh, I shouldn't be pushing any anxiety on him.'
Leo took a deep breath and shook his head a bit.
"But no, I don't recall him coming down to this place at all. And the fact that I'm here…"
"It already introduced a change to how you remember things went, huh?" Bruno filled up the blanks. "The question is," he put on a small, cheeky smile, "is it really necessary for you… No, for all of us to follow the beaten path?"
Initially, Bruno's mouth twitched as if he still had something left to say but, ultimately, he opted out to leave his question to hang in the air.
