Staying The Night
'She can tell?' Christopher was inwardly surprised. He had a faint feeling that her pink eye had something to do with it.
'So this is Felicia Darius huh? The first daughter of the Darius family.' He inwardly noted but smiled outwardly.
"I'm glad Lady Felicia believes me." He said and Felicia just smiled.
"You're very interesting." She said and went back to her seat.
"Well then." Paul suddenly saud and drew everyone's attention.
"I apologize for doubting you. And I also thank you for saving my son's life. We'll make sure to give you whatever he promised." He said and Christopher blinked.
"You know he promised me something?" He asked, and for the first time, Paul smiled faintly.
"I taught all my children to show gratitude when due. Anyway, while I get your rewards soeted out, would you mind staying in one of our guest rooms for the night?" Paul asked.
"I would be honored." Cheistopher bowed.
Paul nodded and then looked at the door.
"Richard." He called out, and a moment later, the Butler came inside.
"Yes famimy head?" He asked respectfully.
"Please escort Mr Christopher to one of our guest rooms. And bring for him a change of clothes as well." He instructed and the Butker bowed.
"It shall be done." He said.
"I guess I'll be in your care." Christopher walked up to the man and said.
Richard didn't reply and just walked and Christopher followed after him.
When they left the dining roomnand the door closed, Paul and everyone else instantly turned towards Titus.
"Tell us everything." He instructed and Titus nodded before relaying to his famiky everything that ocurred from the moment Christopher appeared.
When he was finished, all of them were clearly surprised.
"Not only is he fairly strong despite being young and unaffiliated with any force, he has a beast that us at least at the General rank, and can possibly use spatial magic. How come I've never heard of such an individual?" Paul said wigh clear interest.
"He told me that he kept himself lowkey since he had no intention of showing off and drawing the interest of people like us. After all, he had no backing, so he wouldn't be able to do anything if they forced him." Titus explained.
"I guess that makes sense. However, if that's the truth, then why expose himself now? No offense but if he really intended to keep a low profile, then he would have let you die, little brother." The lean elder brother said and everyone nodded.
"It's possible that he was purely interested in benefits." The muscular brother said. However, Titus shook his head.
"I doubt that, when we were conversing, he showed little to no interest in things that were expensive or rare. He barely gave my personal carriage a second glance, and when i brought him here, he seemed impressed with the castke, but there was no wanting or desire. Almost as if he was just admiring a nice painting before moving on." Titus explained.
"How odd. But I do agree." Felicia said.
"When I was observing him, other than telling the truth, I noticed that he wasn't flustered in the slightest when he was in our presence. I felt respect yes, but it was akin to how a king woukd respect another king. It was mutual respect, not fear or anything like that." She said with a thoughtful look.
"So he sees himself as an equal to us?" The nuscular brothee asked with a frown.
"It would seem that way, yes." Felicia nodded.
"Hm. Well, he has definately caught my interest." Paul said.
"Someone like that isn't stupid. There must be something he has that probably makes him feel so confident. It can't just be oride since according to Titus, he fought something that almost killed him, and he should be fully aware that there are very few things in that forest that can pose a threat to anyone here save for Titus." He said with an interested glint in his eyes.
"Titus, what did you say you promised him again?" Paul asked.
"Ah? I said a hundred Stellar Coins and a High ranking beast egg. Then he could choose one more thing of equal value." Titus answered, caught off guard by the question.
"Hmm. In that case, we'll double the rewards." Everyone was surprised.
"All of a sudden?" Felicia asked with raised eyebrows.
"He clearly has no intention of joining us, or anyone for that matter. I won't force him to do so, but it wouldn't hurt to get close to someone so talented. Think of it as an investment. Also, we'll let him stay in our guest room for as long as he pleases. And Titus."
"Yes?" Titus blinked.
"He seems fond of you. Continue to stay in his good graces if you can." He instructed.
"Understood." Titus nodded.
"Good. You are all dismissed." He said and everyone got up.
"Curtis stay." The lean sibling looked at Paul and sat back down.
***
'Well, I can definately get used to this.' Christopher thought as he lay on the large, king sized bed in the guest bedroom.
The room was almost as big as his apartment back on earth, and it was filled with alk the essentials too. So he had nothing to complain about, and he didn't intend to either.
'That Richard guy still doesn't like me, but at least he did whathe was told.' He thought feeling very comfortabl in the clothes the Butler had provided him.
'Anyway.' He thought as he soread his oerception and made sure that no one was spying on him.
'Let's see my new sword.' Christopher licked his lips and got off the bed, and then with a thought, he appeared in his dimension.
The minute he appeared, he was tackled to the ground by silver who immediately started to lick his face.
"Hehe, good boy." Christoper smiled and rubbed the amazingly soft fur on the huge wolf's body. Silver acceoted the affection happily.
When that was finished, he stood up and glanced around his dimension.
It was clearly bigger now, and with the huge amount dirt he procured now made it so that in a 500 meter radius, there was nothing but Ancient divine soil that would make any farmer on the planet go crazy.
Then in the corner, it was the corpses of the other wolves that he had killed, however, he didn't even give them a second glance.
No, the thing that caught his attention was the sword on the ground.
It was shaped like a Katana who had a very ominous crimson color. The handle was black with a black and red sword guard that was shaped like an eight pointed star. And at the bottom of the hilt, there was a long chain with a sharp spike at the bottom.
<Name: Crimson Destroyer< p>
Weapon Type: Sword
Rank: Blue (evolvable)
Affinity: Lesser Annihilation
Status: Ownerless
Abilities → >
'Okay. Looks pretty good so far.' Christopher thought and decided to lool at its abilities.
He wasn't surprised by the rank as it was already a very fine weapon before its enhancement, so he was nore interested in what it could do.
<Annihilation Aura (Grows with user)< p>
Annihilation Manipulation (Grows with user)> Only two moves, but Christopher seemed quite satisfied.
<Annihilation Aura: Covers the blade with an aura of annihilation which destroys anything it comes in contact on atomic level and has a special destruction effect opposing magic.>
<Annihilation Manipulation: Through the weapon, user can control and manipulate Annihilation energy based on their desires Mana capacity.>
Christopher read the description of the weapon and couldn't help but whistle in amazement.
"I reckon that this would set the market on fire if I put it for sale. However, I don't intend to sell it." He said and picked it by the hilt.
The moment he did, the blade seemed to come to life and the long chain wrapped around his arm harmlessly.
<The Crimson Destroyer Blade wishes to bind itself master.> The system gave a prompt.
"Accept." Christopher nodded.
At that moment, the whole sword glowed before turning into a streak of light that fused with Christopher's arm. At that moment, all that remained was a very conspicuous red tattoo in the shape of a sword with a chain around it.
"That looks sick. But it's way too obvious." Christopher said with a wry smile. He for sure would be asked questions by the Darius family as the tattoo wasn't there the night before.
However, the moment he had the thought, the tattoo gradually faded before disappearing altogether.
"Woah." Christopher exclaimed. He could still tell the tattoo was there, but it was no longer visible. He then thought of the blade appearing again.
Immediately, the spot on his arm where the tattoo glowed red before the sword materialized in his hand, the chain wrapping around his arm again.
"This is so cool." Christopher grinned like a kid who got his favorite toy on Christmas.
The thought of testing the sword crossed his mind. However…
<Warning! The dimension cannot handle sick high levels of energy emission! Master is advised to not test the weapon inside!> Christopher was surprised since the system had never issued a warning before.
"Seems like I need to be a bit more careful." He muttered.
At that juncture, Silver suddenly approached Christopher and looked at the blade curiously before sniffing it. However, the moment he did, his hair stood on end and he jumped back, posture low as he growled at the weapon warningly.
"Woah, calm down. Christopher said and put the blade away. That immediately seemed to appease the wolf.
"It seems like it is very dangerous. Best not to bring it out unless I have to." Christopher mumbled down. However, he now wanted to test the sword now more than ever.
"Whatever, there's a time for everything. For now, let's just sleep." He said to himself.
He pet Silver once more before leaving the dimension again.
He then got on his bed and decided to go to sleep.
