Clap! Clap! Clap!
"!"
"My! Don't be so surprised!"
I looked at the dead 'Maestro'. He was yet another fanatic that was just a piece to the bigger picture.
"My condolences to you Igarashi-san for your recent loss."
"..."
I don't think she heard me. She must still be in shock after all.
"A piece of advice for you Nomura-san is to start preparing. For the end is near and the world will spiral into a pit of hell."
"?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You'll see…"
"But you Yuuki-kun will need to follow the person behind this one, ok?"
"W-What? Why? Also I've never met you before right?"
"Let's just say you might be a big help to me… And no you haven't…"
"Ah! I haven't introduced myself, right? My name is Sora! Nice to meet you all."
"Yuki-kun, stop wasting my time and get over here."
I saw Nomura-san whisper something into Yuuki-kun's ear and he slowly came towards the laptop and eventually went past it.
"Well for now take this as a welcome gift from Catalyst."
"Catalyst!?"
"You are now free. Do whatever you want… Do it in the name of Kazami Tazuru…"
"Yes… Thank you Sora-sama. This will be in the name of Kazami Tazuru sama!!"
Bam.
"Phew."
How tiring. That guy most likely committed kamikaze.
'In the name of Kazami Tazuru-sama…'
If things go right then I can use Yuuki-kun as leverage against 'her'.
Let's head inside now.
I got out of the back of the truck I was staying in and headed for the currently ruined prison.
.
.
.
Rubble, flames and bodies littered my surroundings.
None of it bothered me however as I have already grown used to the smell and sight of dead caracesses. The things that bothered me the most was the time it took me to reach my destination and the loud explosions that happened every once in a while.
"Finally here…"
I had reached the door that led down to 'her'.
As the metal steps beneath my feet reverberated with a 'ting!' I thought about what to do next.
I soon reached the floor with Kazami Tazuru's interrogation room. It seems that the 'leader' wanted the atmosphere to be perfect.
Right at the front of the room was the 'leader'
Unlike the others who had looked like soldiers, the leader had a much cleaner and more defined appearance. Each of the times I had met the various individuals who led this group, every one of them had various types of aesthetic.
But the common part out of them all were the suits that made them stand out.
Catalyst.
The group I had worked with and in turn had led me close to my answers. This group was in essence a cult for Kazami Tazuru.
I had met them when the group was still together but who would have known that they would have turned out so big?
"So… You're finally here… Are you going to tell me what you were doing?"
"No~ Let's get this done now. After all, you wouldn't want your Tzauru-sama waiting would you?"
"...Of course not. Let's head inside."
As the door opened with a slight creak the room came into view.
A landscape to wonder if you met an angel had appeared. Although not as romantic, the white background and the dress Kazami-san was wearing made the atmosphere seem so.
"...This wasn't the appointed time was it?"
"...My deepest apologies Kazami Tazuru-sama if you would like, I could commit seppuku for you. But when we had found out that we could meet you sooner we took that chance. Please forgive me."
"I see… It has been quite a while hasn't it? Sora?"
"...Yes it has, it has been around two years or so hasn't it."
"Time flies like the wind when you have no purpose."
"Well let's leave then shall we?"
"As you wish Kazami Tazuru-sama."

Cough! Cough!
"SHIT!!!"
Everything is going wrong! The one time our defenses were low 'they' had to show up.
A cult group named Catalyst. They had been rapidly growing over the years and eventually we lost track of how far their group had spreaded.
One of the things we can confirm however is the fact that they were smuggling weapons.
Who was that just now?
A man wearing soldier attire appeared with an open laptop out of nowhere.
"Hah…"
I need to get to the hospital… no… everyone does…
I looked around me as one of the police officers had rushed towards the suicide bomber and had saved us all… the rest were just caught up in the aftermath of the explosion.
I was perhaps one of the unlucky ones as the aftermath hit me the hardest. A shrapnel had scraped my head.
"Is everyone alright!?"
"Cough! Yes Nomura-san!"
Ring! Ring!
Who!?
I looked at the caller. It was the prison cell number?
"What is it-"
I heard gunshots.
"Nomura-san! Please help me-"
Bang!
What is going on!?
"Hold on, I'll be there!"
.
.
.
What in the world…
Patches of small flames and the smell mixing burned plants, corpses and random dust and debris was lingering in the air.
"Spread out! Search for any survivors and call me when you find them!"
"Yes sir!"
I headed for the prison cells. Along the way were corpses of prisoners that failed to escape the crossfire of Catalyst and the police.
"Anyone alive down here?"
I asked one of the police officers that came down here.
"No sir. It seems that everyone here is dead…"
"I see… Can you turn over the prisoners' bodies for me? I want to check something. I'll help you."
He nodded and started flipping the prisoners' bodies. I went and looked at their faces.
No.
No…
It's none of them…
This was enough confirmation. There was no doubt that Catalyst came to break out Kazami Tazuru but so far none of the Copycats bodies' have been found.
A foreboding sense of danger started appearing in my mind. Perhaps it was because of all the things that happened all at once but I had just started to realize what all this could mean.
Our target isn't to clean up or investigate this right now… we need to stop Catalyst from what they're doing!!

The low rumble of the truck and the occasional bumps along with the silence within really made me feel like this was a field trip rather than a cult breaking out a high class wanted criminal…
Before we had left the truck containing Yuuki-kun came and 'Kazami-san' went into it most likely to play another game.
Tap. . .
Tap. . .
I slowly tapped the carpeted floor of the truck in a slow and rhythmic beat.
I have two people to ask in order to find the real Kazami Tazuru. One is the fake and the other is Technician-san.
One of them must know where the real one is due to the fact that Kazami Tazuru wouldn't just go running somewhere.
I have pieces to work with. Now that I think about it… If I keep Yuuki-kun as a hostage wouldn't 'Kazami-san' just order Catalyst to kill me? Eh. Doesn't matter now.
"Sora-sama we have arrived."
"Alright"
The doors at the back opened up to the scenery of an elementary school.
"Hahhh~"
God I was stuck for far too long in there.
"Ah! Kazami-san! Come here for a moment!"
Ah… I just saw a squint just now didn't I…
"Yes Sora-kun? What do you need?"
"You're not actually Kazami-san are you? Where is she? I have a question to ask her."
"...So you knew… No what am I saying of course you of all people should realize that I'm not her."
"Haha! You know Sora-kun? You ruined all of my plans…"
"Do you know where she is or not? I don't have time to waste, you know?"
"...No, I don't know where she is. I'm sorry to disappoint you but she's most likely on the other side of the world enjoying her life."
"HAHA!!! You're really funny you that? I of all people should know that Kazami-san has no longer a will to live, so why would she be enjoying her life? Her definition of enjoyment is the screams and squeals of people being slaughtered."
"...You really are funny… Yuuki-san."
"So you knew that too… I'm not even surprised anymore."
Her facade of Kazami-san had completely crumbled. Her distinctive cat-like eyes now no longer held any of the chaos it used to contain.
I wonder how she managed to replicate her personality so well? If not for extremely small details I would have been fooled.
"Let us head in."
"Sure…"
Catalyst had set up their camp at the gymnasium of the school. Various boxes and crates were scattered throughout.
Ahh!!! Technician-san!! You're my last hope now! Don't let me down!
"Technician-san!! You're a girl now… no… a loli? Your tastes are… …"
"Why are you judging me?"
"I can't?"
You've seen me like this before right? Besides, I feel like it's nice to change things once in a while."
"Please don't tell me that's your excuse to look like a grade schooler right?"
"..."
"What do you want…"
"Ah! Right! Follow me please."
"W-Wait!"
I just dragged him (?) no her (??) to the back where there was little to none of the Catalyst members.
"Technician-san… you like money right?"
"So what? I can't be materialistic?"
"No no… I'll pay you a hefty sum if you tell me where the real Kazami-san is…"
"You made quite the tempting offer, but because of my deal with her, no can do. Sorry about that."
"..."
"...So you do know where she is right?"
Their eyes narrowed. I never liked their eyes. Maybe it was because it was a bit too similar to mine but it always felt like Technician-san was just another version of me.
"Do I or do I not? Who knows…"
The small upwards of my lips had disappeared as I just stared at this person.
"If you have nothing else to say then…"
They went back into the gymnasium.
What to do…
What to do…
No one is cooperating with me right now, how sad.

I would describe myself as a genius.
Not because I was a narcissist but rather that was what everyone had said while I grew up.
I found what other people would take years upon years to find. In essence I was the Nikola Tesla of this era.
I was so far from other people that eventually when I looked back I couldn't even see anyone. That's how far of a gap I was from others.
With it came all sorts of people ranging from greedy capitalists to hitmen. Eventually I grew tired and made a plan to fake my death and conduct my research in peace and quiet.
It worked.
No more nuisances to bother me with my research time.
One day I met two girls. How should I say it… one was a very 'eccentric' person while the other was a lovestruck calm individual.
I found the 'eccentric' one to be worthy of my research and helped at the cost of money.
Soon after this business transaction-like relationship formed she invited me to join her group. Originally it would have been just the three of us whilst traveling we met another peculiar person.
A photography obsessed maniac.
He had soon joined the group. He fit in and at the same time was an outlier.
When you are a child you are more susceptible and many factors can influence you. When you find something interesting or someone cool some of their manners or actions can be incorporated into your life.
But Sora… he copied the one person he idolized the most.
Kazami Tazuru.
Everything from her waking schedule to which hand she was dominant with was all known by him.
He controlled many things within the group. Or rather he didn't take no for an answer and just started doing them on his own.
A small running joke was how much he looked like me. Except for my unruly hair almost everything about him was a near perfect lookalike.
They say that there are a couple of doppelgangers who have the same face as you do because of the amount of people living now.
I would have never thought that I would ever meet one.
The years had passed and eventually all good things must end.
"I'm going to turn myself in."
Kazami Tazuru has announced that she was going to turn herself in to the police. She no longer had anything to live for.
It was a pity.
It was quite irresponsible of her to leave such an idolized fan of hers and a lover behind without any warning.
Eighty-nine people. That's how many people she had killed.
In common society she was a monster with a devil's heart.
But in my eyes she just looked like a last lamb trying to find her way. Another lamb had decided to follow her as well. Then another and eventually… a cult had formed.
We had met some of the members of Catalyst while traveling across Japan.
Then a few days after the announcement of Kazami-san turning herself in, Yuuki-san had come to me at my workshop.
"I want to ask you for something…"
"You know it will cost you right?"
"Of course I have the money ready…"
"What do you want then?"
"I-"
From then on she asked to 'turn' into Kazami Tazuru. With my skills I made her into the exact copy of her and Yuuki-san turned herself in after a month and a half later after the treatment.
"--"
"Ah, yeah, I did the surgery. She paid me off."
"Are you gonna kill me?"
"No."
"--."
Eventually I helped Kazami-san turn into Yuuki-kun and she kept a failsafe in case anything goes bad. And bad did happen.
Sora had messed up everyone's plans. Because he sped up Catalysts plans everyone is in disarray and it's a mess. Why couldn't I just be left to research in peace?
Beep! Beep! Beep!
"Police, how may I help you?"
"Catalyst-"
This chapter is very bad... I just wanted to put something out before I lose all interest in this and the end is coming... Eh...
Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
