Chapter 84 Nirvits Mistake

Finding out that my speculations from before were true combined with the extra information unsettled me. It means that Nirvits had come to this island, tried to create a magic that can turn anything into pure goodness and found moon drip which can unseal any magic while being one of the purest magic ever. The experiment was done in the temple on the centre of the island where the spell was directly carved into it.

But the world of magic had a balance to keep. In return for a pure magic that can unseal even the most unbreakable of all magic, the denizens of the village suffered by being combined with the dark magic that was extracted to form the light magic thereby turning into grotesque demons with wings as black as night.

Seeing this the Nirvits wanted to change them back but the research to conduct that will have to take place back in Nirvana. And leaving an island filled with people who are turning into demons was not a good idea as their mental state will make them do things that will not be irreversible. So, they decided to carve many mental magic circles in the temple as well which will constantly brainwash them into thinking that they were demons who are supposed to live using illusion magic as one of the humans. They placed this magic and was planning to come back after completing their research to turn the humans back to their true form without compromising the moon drip ritual.

But they never knew that the Nirvana they built will bring the end to them all. When the researchers went back, they were affected by the dark magic cleansed by Nirvana which led to their destruction.

This essentially trapped the villagers in the island with the belief that they are demons. But this does not end there. The dark magic that formed was the complete opposite of the light magic. The light magic moon drip that moved the immovable and broke the unbreakable gave rise to the dark magic that was the ultimate seal which froze the time for essentially everything that it effected, making all the demonized humans perfectly immortal. No aging, no dying, perfect immortality. So, the children of the villagers who are also demons will never grow as well. So, there was a chance that the villagers would have found it suspicious no matter how much they were made to think of themselves as demons. But this was of no problem because there was an additional magic circle that was added which periodically refreshed their memory, erasing them and making them become essentially stuck in the same age again and again.

But the Nirvits who went back for research would have not known about the factor of immortality as the symptoms of it showing would have taken a few years. So, who added the extra spell. The answer was very simple.

Who was it that still insisted on the fact that they were demons and not humans in the cannon at the end of the arc. Who was it that said that he had no problems retaining his memory even when the entire village had their memories changed. Who was it that had come out to the village only after the glass made of moon drip was destroyed.

The answer was the only wizard among the Nirvits who along with the villagers had succumbed to the darkness. Who was tasked to act as a guardian for the villagers. Who spread the fact that the island was cursed throughout the port when the moon drip began to undo the extra spells. Who faked his death to escape from the villagers and protect them from the outside forces.

The man standing in front of us right now, the man Raoul had told Ultear to find to break the curse.

The supposed son of the head of the village Bobo or as Raoul revealed his true name

Barnabas Nirvit the Nirvit with the knowledge of memory magic.

"Raoul sent us to tell that it is time to set them free" Ultear spoke a single sentence.

Bobo's eyes widened a bit for a moment, and he closed it for a few moments, then his shoulders sagged a bit and he opened his eyes. His expression showed that he was in a state of resignation.

"What of Raoul, what is his duties now?, did he tell you about it?" he asked and this time I answered

"Raoul's spirit has taken it upon himself to protect it till its time for it to fade into time" I said which in a way did not reveal information that no one was supposed to hear.

After that we went to meet others, and it seems like their battle had concluded and they were trying their best to search for me. But since my magic is non existent they were not able to detect me even with their senses. I found out that the battle with Leon was easily won by them this time. Last time they had to face a large amount of people along with Leon which had led to their defeat. But the addition of two S class wizards had easily led to their defeat. They were also able to easily defeat Leon as well. And saying that Ur had still not recovered her prime and still managed to beat him broke that ego he had and made him realise how much weaker he was compared to Deliora.

And then when later he revealed what was in the basement of the temple and his idea of combining multiple demons to prove that he was stronger than them shocked them for a bit and immediately they started pummelling him without mercy. Every one of the Fairy Tail members including Lucy and Happy too joined to beat the shit out of him for doing something like that.

So right now, Leon looked like a clump of swelling after all the beatings. And from their talks, it seemed like they are waiting to go to the mainland to heal him and beat him up again.
