"F- is for F~uun!"
"U- is for Uran~ium bombs!"
"N- is for No Survivoooors~!"
"D, will you stop that?" I couldn't help but wince at what D was singing, it was disturbing in many ways, especially when she sang it where many of our classmates including our teacher literally evaporated.
I may be a little indifferent about what happened, but it doesn't mean I'm happy about what happened to my classmates, yet D seemed to enjoy the fact that they died. I can already imagine a lot of families mourning this incident.
Wait, did the students from the other classes also die?
I shifted my gaze toward my school, which was wrecked beyond belief and decided that indeed, there's no way those students from other classes survived that.
If that's the case, then did D also reincarnate them? Looking at the cause of the incident, indirectly may it be, the fact that she's the reason why that beam arrived in my world from hers.
Seeing the nonchalant expression of D…I guessed that she didn't, probably that's why I'm asking her. "D, did you also reincarnate the students from other classes who were unfortunate enough to get hit by that massive prana beam?"
D answered my question without hesitation. "No, why would I care about them? There's no way I'd spare any effort for a bunch of strangers that I don't know."
I stared at her directly in the eyes and gave her a look of 'are you serious?'
However, she just shrugged it off and didn't spare any second about this particular subject.
Okay…so it's confirmed that only my classmates got reincarnated, now I feel sorry for those unlucky sods who didn't get a second chance.
"Aren't our classmates to you, technically a stranger?" I wasn't kidding about that, I mean with her introverted persona, she didn't make any friendly relationships with my classmates, at most it's just a passing acquaintance.
D, however, shrugged and didn't answer that question. If she didn't want to answer then there's no point asking her about it.
Anyway, there's no point staying in the school any longer, it won't take long for the authorities to arrive at this place, I better leave so that I could avoid being asked.
It's a pain to answer those police questions, with that in mind I left the school grounds, along with D who just followed me behind, there's no point asking her why since she'll follow me either way.

-Gotō Hitori a.k.a Bocchi-
Bocchi is currently on her family sofa watching TV, she rarely goes outside her territory which is her room, but today was one of those rare occasions, since her cold got better, she thought it might be nice to watch TV once in a while since she's using the Internet too frequently.
So watching TV is a nice change, she honestly can't remember the last time she watched the news though, then as soon as she turned on the TV.
Her eyes widened, along with her jaw-dropping from her face, because she saw her school, the place where studying was wrecked beyond belief.
At this point, her school could hardly call a building anymore, as there were hardly any blocks left to it.
She didn't even notice her mother dropping the tray beside her, she was too shocked at what she witnessed.
'W-w-what happened to my school?!' Bocchi then realized that she was focusing on a less important subject, instead of asking what happened to her school, what about her classmates?
Yamano-san, Wakaba-san, especially Alexander…what happened to them?!
Her body was so stiff at the moment that people might have mistaken her for a statue, and her body started trembling, and couldn't stop herself from hugging herself as she felt cold all over her body.
D-did they die?
Looking at the local news, it was reported that more than a hundred students died from the said explosion.
Bocchi noticed something from the news, while it isn't recognizable to most people, she did as the center of the said explosion was in her class, not the others.
Meaning, that explosion originated from her class!
And that only made her tremble more, she's scared, really scared because what if she wasn't sick today? Would she be one of the students who died today?
The answer to the question is, obviously yes, there's no way she could have survived it unless she got superpowers or something, but that's not the point she narrowly escaped death today.
She was unbelievably lucky to be sick, however, it did make her happy at all, instead, she felt cold and empty inside.
Bocchi didn't even feel that her mother was hugging her tightly, as she was stuck on the sofa like she was a part of it.
She couldn't even understand what her mother was saying at the moment, as her eyes were solely glued to the TV.
—
It took some time for her to recover, although she was still stuck on the sofa, however at least she is now aware of her surroundings, her senses came back.
"Hitori, dear listen, you should rest…" Her mother softly said as she gently touched Bocchi's cheeks.
However, Bocchi didn't answer, making her mother sigh.
Suddenly someone pressed their house doorbell, making her mother stand up from her kneeling position and mutter. "Honestly not in the mood to receive guests today…"
After that her mother left, while she was thinking about what happened to her friends right now, so far the news hasn't gotten the identities of who died, it was only a rough guess of how many died.
Then she heard her mother grasping in shock from their door, curiously she stared in the direction of their door and as she did, her eyes widened in a massive portion along with her mouth forming a circle.
She couldn't believe what she just saw, it was someone who she thought died from the explosion incident, her first friend, her best friend, her crush, and most likely the person she truly loved.
Alexander Barthomeloi.
Seeing his familiar figure, unknowingly the invisible pressure that she felt a while ago disappeared by a large margin.
To see him alive caused her to feel an immense amount of relief, and at that moment she realized that he was the only one that truly matters to her.
And it was truly damning as she didn't feel any more negative feelings, the fact that her school burned and the fact that the majority of her classmates died.
Was she always this selfish and cold-hearted?
Despite knowing that, it did not bother her at all for some reason, anyway before she knew it her legs moved with their own and dashed toward Alexander's direction and gave him a tight affectionate hug.
"Y-y-you're alive…i-i'm glad…" Bocchi buried her face beneath his chest and started crying, as they say when it pours it rains.
Once the tear dropped, she couldn't stop it from falling more.
She wasn't supposed to be bold like this, people scared her, and having skin contact with anyone could potentially give her a mini heart attack, but it was different with him, it felt so right.
Bocchi continued to cry at his chest, while her mother behind her was smiling. "Ara~ ara~"
It's probably just her imagination but she heard her mother saying. "Please take care of my precious daughter."
Bocchi couldn't hear his reply, as she was only hearing her sniffing voice at the moment.
At that very moment, she felt at ease in his presence, and hoped that this moment would last forever…
—
It wasn't until she realized how embarrassing her action was, she instantly dropped into the floor and started glitching like Gaia was trying to erase her existence.
And then the foaming started, she could barely hear Alexander or her mother's cries as she was busy rebooting.
She can't believe she acted like a normie there!
And she wasn't even his girlfriend?! Why was she hugging him?! Now he must have thought of her as a creep!!
She can't take this anymore, she hoped that the earth would swallow her whole right now!
It would take a while for her to recover.
—
I was honestly surprised by how bold Bocchi acted, she suddenly hugged me tightly without feeling nervous.
After knowing her for years I know how my friend's personality, the fact that she can't stand music that has to do with positivity or normie music in general.
Not to mention, people scare her, and talking to people is a huge problem for her as she's terrified of communicating, it took a while for her to even talk to me properly.
It was quite an unforgettable experience, either way, touching a person or having any skin contact, in general, is a massive hurdle for her, as Bocchi's introvert level is at max capacity.
I wasn't an exception to that, and that is why I was surprised that she's willingly making skin contact with him.
But after a few minutes, when I was sure that she's cured of her problem with people, all of the sudden my dear friend Bocchi suddenly collapsed on the floor, foaming, glitching (How is that possible?) If I didn't know why better I thought Gaia was trying to erase her from the plane of existence.
I really thought that the first time I witnessed this action of hers, either way, I think I'm forgetting someone…
"Hey, why not try using CPR on her? I bet she'll recover."
Oh right, D…
And no, there's no way I'd do that as it would only make the issue worse, and no doubt there's a high possibility of Bocchi having a heart attack.
"Oh, she's at it again…anyway will the two of you come inside? I'd like to ask you a few questions regarding what happened to your school." Bocchi's mom said with an unusually serious tone.
With that, I nodded and went inside the house along with D.
