Chapter 10: A Trip to 2009
The sound of a portal gun's zap echoed through the team's underground lair as the group stood around Rick, who was fiddling with a glowing device, the corners of his mouth turned up in a mischievous grin.
"Alright, team, I've got a little something to unwind after everything we've been through," Rick said, his voice laced with a touch of excitement. "We're going to take a little vacation—back in time to 2009."
Hikari raised an eyebrow. "Back in time? What's in 2009, Rick? A vacation spot with free drinks?"
Rick's grin widened. "Something much more exciting than that. We're going back to hunt down Osama bin Laden."
There was a beat of silence as everyone processed what Rick had just said.
"What?" Clara finally asked, her voice a mixture of disbelief and curiosity. "You want us to go back to the past… to hunt him?"
Rick nodded, enthusiasm glowing in his eyes. "Exactly. It's the perfect way to blow off some steam. We've all been through a lot, and what better way to relax than taking down a notorious terrorist? It's like history's final boss, but with less paperwork."
Gojo's sunglasses glinted as he rubbed his chin. "I mean, it does sound like a fun diversion. Not every day you get to punch a war criminal in the face, right?"
"Wait," Hikari interjected, "are we just going to take him out like it's a game? Isn't there more to it than that?"
Rick waved his hand dismissively. "It'll be fun. We won't be changing history. Just giving the timeline a little… nudge. Trust me, we'll get in and out. Think of it like a tactical exercise."
Clara, still a bit unsure but curious, glanced at the rest of the group. "Well, if we're doing this, can we at least make sure we don't end up in some kind of paradox that messes up the world?"
Rick grinned slyly. "Oh, don't worry about that. The multiverse theory means anything we do here won't affect our current timeline. Plus, I've installed a time buffer that'll keep us from triggering any catastrophic changes. This is purely for fun."
With that, the group reluctantly agreed. And with a final whirr of the portal gun, they stepped into the swirling vortex of time.

Back in 2009: The Hunt Begins
The world was different in 2009. The air had a distinct texture, heavier with the uncertainty of the times. The team landed in the middle of a barren desert, far from the hustle of modern-day civilization. Sandstorms kicked up around them as they stood in the hot, unforgiving sun.
Hikari squinted against the harsh wind. "This is the 2009 we're talking about? Where's the cool stuff? No neon lights, no tech. Just endless sand?"
Rick adjusted his portal gun, his voice chipper as ever. "Well, you can't just teleport to the cool part of history, Hikari. We've got to blend in first. We're here to find bin Laden and take him out before he gets too comfortable."
Gojo, ever the optimist, cracked his knuckles. "Sounds easy enough. I mean, we're all way stronger than anyone here. Shouldn't be much of a challenge."
"Right," Rick said. "You just have to track down the right hideout. Bin Laden's been hiding in the mountains near Afghanistan. We've got coordinates to a place he's been frequenting. Let's get moving."
Clara, her tactical mind already running through possible plans, spoke up. "So, what's the game plan? We go in quiet, neutralize his guards, then grab him for intel before we take him down, right?"
Rick shook his head. "Nah, that's too serious. Let's have some fun first. We'll go loud, and we'll go hard. Bin Laden has been holed up for years thinking he's untouchable. Let's give him a show. He won't even know what hit him."
And so, they began their mission.

Infiltrating the Hideout
The team moved quickly through the rocky, desert landscape, their goal in sight: a compound hidden deep in the mountains, heavily guarded, as expected. They could see armed men patrolling the outside. As they approached, Rick pulled out a strange, glowing device.
"This is a little something I invented to make sure we get in without anyone getting too suspicious," he said with a grin.
With a quick flick of the device, the entire perimeter of the compound was cloaked in a shimmering field of distortion, rendering them invisible to the naked eye and electronic surveillance.
Hikari chuckled. "That's a neat trick, Rick. Now let's make some noise."
Gojo stretched his arms, his signature grin reappearing. "Let's show them why they shouldn't mess with us."
The team crept through the compound's walls, taking out guards with swift precision. Gojo, using his Limitless technique, slowed down time around him, incapacitating guards with ease. Rick's portal gun warped space, pulling enemies into another dimension with a quick flick of his wrist. Clara remained focused, using her sharp instincts to predict the movement of enemy troops, taking them out with precise shots.
Hikari, spinning his roulette wheel, eagerly darted between enemies. Every time the wheel clicked, he made sure to land on a decision that put him one step ahead. A swift knockout here, a well-placed kick there—each move an exercise in his chaotic but effective style of fighting.
Soon, the compound was clear of any immediate threats. The team moved to the central building where intelligence suggested Bin Laden was hiding.

Confrontation with Bin Laden
Inside the compound, they finally came face-to-face with the man they had come to find: Osama bin Laden himself, lounging in a dimly lit room, his eyes widening in surprise as the team burst through the door.
"Well, well," Gojo said, his voice dripping with amusement. "Did you really think you could stay hidden forever? I mean, seriously, with all this security? You're not even trying to hide."
Bin Laden, always the confident strategist, stood up slowly, his eyes narrowing. "Who are you? What do you want?"
Rick took a step forward, a grin on his face. "Oh, just a little history lesson. You see, we've been sent by… future historians. And they really don't like you very much."
Hikari, spinning his roulette wheel lazily, stepped next to Rick. "You've made a lot of bad bets, Bin Laden. This is the house always winning."
Clara narrowed her eyes. "We're here to finish what history should have done years ago. You're not getting out of this one."
Bin Laden hesitated, sensing the power emanating from the group. "You think you can kill me? Do you know who I am? What I've built?"
Rick scoffed. "Yeah, we know. But frankly, we don't care. You're just another problem to deal with."
And with that, the team moved in.
Gojo, as usual, took the lead. With a flick of his hand, he unleashed a barrage of Limitless energy, surrounding the compound with infinite space, creating an impenetrable field that trapped bin Laden inside. Hikari darted forward, swinging his roulette wheel, charging up his cursed energy for the final blow. Clara kept a sharp eye on the exits—no surprises this time.
Bin Laden, realizing his options were gone, stood his ground. "You think this is over? Even if you kill me, the war will never end…"
Rick stepped up to him, his expression a mixture of indifference and cynicism. "Yeah, probably. But that's not our problem anymore."
With a decisive motion, Gojo struck the final blow, neutralizing Osama bin Laden and ensuring the timeline was no longer clouded by his influence.

Relaxation and Reflection
The team stood in the now-silent compound, the sounds of battle fading.
"That was… quick," Hikari said, spinning his roulette wheel one last time, clearly pleased with the outcome. "I thought there'd be more drama."
Gojo laughed. "That's the thing about being a complete powerhouse. You get in, get the job done, and move on. Bin Laden was a joke."
Rick pocketed his portal gun. "Well, it's done. We've fixed a little historical blip, and now, we can relax. No more bad guys for a while, I think."
Clara finally relaxed her tense shoulders. "At least we're done. Maybe next time we pick a more calm vacation spot. Somewhere with a beach."
Hikari grinned. "What's next? 1990s hip-hop battle? Or are we heading straight into the 80s for some retro-style chaos?"
Rick waved his hand dismissively. "No, no. Let's just get back to our time. I'm not doing another timeline intervention."
As the team stepped back through the portal, they left behind the dust and chaos of 2009, returning to their own timeline. The mission had been a success, and for now, they had some much-needed relaxation.
The world could wait a little longer.
