A failed Escape or not

After one week.

"Theo is dead? Theo is dead!" Lavinia shouted.

"He is not dead. He is missing" Ricker said.

"He can be dead. There was a lot of blood" Kol said.

"Who killed him?" Lavinia asked.

Ricker and Kol looked at each other, not saying anything.

Lavinia shockingly realized, "Where is Emma?"

"She is missing" Kol said in lower volume. He looked at Ricker who was staring the floor. He looked worried. Everyone was.

"Missing where?" Lavinia screamed.

"I don't know. Where were you? You were supposed to be with her, remember" Kol said.

"I was with her. I was waiting for her in the car" Lavinia said.

"Why were you in the car? Where were you going?" Ricker asked looking at Lavinia. Lavinia stumbled upon her words. She was caught. There was no escape.

"We were leaving city for good" Lavinia said looking in another direction.

"What?" Kol asked shockingly.

"She was arrested by cops for murdering someone. Her father is missing. She is accused of attempted murder on her so-called husband. The man she loved is a not someone she trusts, and I suck as her best friend. The list is long. We had been planning this escape from the moment she was arrested but I don't understand what went wrong? She just wanted to grab her handbag from her room. It should not have taken more than five minutes" Lavinia said. She exhaustedly sat on the chair besides her. She fought her tears not to fall. She blinked multiple times and exhaled loudly.

"Well, five minutes were enough for Theo to be murdered and his dead body to go missing along with Emma" Kol said. He felt bad for Lavinia.

"Police suspects Emma for this. How? Lavinia asked.

"What do you mean how? She was already a suspect" Kol said.

"Where were you two? Tell me honestly, have you anything to do with this?" Lavinia asked.

"No" Ricker said.

"No! that's a surprise" Lavinia retorted.

"He is saying the truth" Kol said.

"He already attacked Theo once. He could have easily done it twice" Lavinia blamed Ricker.

"Except, I didn't. Not even the last time" Ricker said.

"What? You said to Emma.." Lavinia said.

"I said I will protect her. I was going to kill him once and for all but I didn't. I was planning for something.." Ricker said.

"One minute. You didn't attack him for the first time, so who did and why did you take the blame?" Lavinia asked.

"I never took the blame. Everyone assumed it was me. I was okay with that" Ricker said.

"Does it mean someone else was attacking Theo? Now he is dead, and Emma is missing. Has that person taken Emma?" Lavinia said in fear.

"Why did he take Theo's corpse?" Kol gave a curious expression.

"Most important question is- Is he really dead?" Lavinia said. "How are we going to find Emma?" Lavinia asked.

"We will" Ricker said.

Emma was walking down the road when she saw some men drinking and taking outside a pub. It was a chilly night. She tucked close the buttons of her coat and changed her direction. It led to a narrow street. The darkness made it difficult for Emma to see what was ahead, but her heart raced when she felt someone was following her. She quickens her pace and so did the person follow her. Was it Ricker? Cops? Or someone else? Numerous thoughts ran through her mind. She got scared when her path ended Infront of a large brick wall.

Emma turned around to see the black figure, not making the face of person. Emma clutched tightly to her bag. As the person moved closer, Emma swing her bag, hitting the dark figure on his head and she kept hitting the person until the man fall on ground.

The man screamed in pain. As he fell on the ground, Emma took out her phone and flashed torch on his face. She saw a familiar person.

"Dean?"

"Yes, Dean. You hit me hard" Dean said.

"I am sorry. I thought you were some goon or thug" Emma said.

"What have you stuffed in that bag that hit so hard" Dean held her head.

"There are lot of stuffs" Emma gave Dean a sympathetic look.

"Hell, yes there are. Am I bleeding?" Dean said.

"No but there is a bruise, I guess it will turn blue" Emma said.

"Perfect. You ruined my perfect face" Dean complained.

"It will be fine. What are you doing here? Why were you following me?" Emma said.

"What do you mean why? We decided to meet here. Now let's go before you start attacking another soul" Dean said.

Emma looked at Dean in a surprising manner. The way he said it was different.

Dean looked at Emma and said, "I must ask. It's just plain curiosity so if you want to deny answering it. It is alright but did you kill Theo? Did you attack him"?

"Yes. Is that a problem?" Emma said.

"No. No problem at all. I like my girls bad" Dean said and followed the way.

Emma opened her bag to place her phone back. She stared at the shiny metallic object for a moment and then took off with Dean.
