Secretary Aisha observed the scene and couldn't help but sigh inwardly. If anyone else, even Director Ji or Director Mu, had interrupted the President during a meeting, they would be in big trouble. But Miss Su seems to be an exception.
Su Wanxia greeted Aisha and then hurried downstairs.
Finally arriving at what was called the office, Su Wanxia plopped down on the swivel chair and sprawled over the desk, utterly dejected.
"Summer! What's wrong? You look so down," Meng Can said with a smile as he walked in.
Su Wanxia lifted her head and looked at the handsome Meng Can who had just entered. She couldn't help but think how his name suited him, with that eternally radiant smile on his elegant face.
"Nothing, just feeling pretty depressed," Su Wanxia mumbled, her face resting on the desk.
"You were classmates with the Mu brothers?" He had been surprised when he heard about it at the banquet.
"Yeah, but I transferred to England before I graduated."
Then she added gloomily, "They're all so mean!"
"Hehe, I think you get along quite well with them," Meng Can said, implying something.
"Well, they're okay. Not worth mentioning those annoying guys," Su Wanxia said, her vexation reaching a peak.
"Bringing negative emotions into work isn't your style."
Hearing this, Su Wanxia immediately sat up straight from the desk, "You're right. I won't let anything affect my work."
"Hehe," Meng Can pointed at Su Wanxia's empty desk, "Better tidy up, we're about to start working."
"Okay, you go ahead and get busy too."
"Need any help?"
"No need, I'll have it sorted out in no time."
The temporary architectural department was divided into three areas: an architectural decoration area, an architectural planning area, and one left for architectural engineering to facilitate office work.
There were three main designers in their architectural decoration team, and that included her, Meng Can, and Wen Lingya. Each of them had an office, and they might have some assistants later on.
It didn't take long for her to organize her files, turn on the computer, and log into QQ. She rarely used QQ, and most of the contacts were work-related ones.
She then began downloading some essential materials, resources, and software for work.
She was very strict with herself regarding work, not allowing for any mistakes, which made her quite efficient. When in England, most people liked to call her a work guru.
She had just started downloading when the dedicated phone next to her computer rang.
"Hello, who is this?"
"Wanxia, It's me. How is it going? Are you satisfied with your work environment?" She immediately felt an itch in her teeth upon recognizing the voice on the phone.
"Fine, it's great," Su Wanxia said through gritted teeth.
"Er... Hehe, that's good. If you need anything, just call me. I guarantee I'll be there,"
"Your guarantee, is that why my work ID was in the President's office?" Su Wanxia's voice grew even more sinister.
Ji Hua touched his nose, "That, it was an accident I left it there yesterday, er, hehe."
"If you have something to say, say it. Otherwise, I'm hanging up," Su Wanxia said, not interested in his boring and childish tricks.
"Don't hang up just yet. You know about the Bali Island project that Big Brother entrusted me with, so, I need to send you some stuff. What's your QQ? I'll transfer it to you."
Su Wanxia rolled her eyes, "Isn't there email?"
"Using Q is so convenient, a lot of them, hurry up!"
Su Wanxia had no choice but to give her number, and soon a notification came through.
When she saw that long string of names, the corner of her mouth twitched uncontrollably, "Dazzling Little Huahua"? God!
Accept, and then she quickly typed a note and sent back a message, "Are you the legendary **?"
Ji Hua---Haha, what do you think, isn't my name a mix of domineering and a hint of cute?
Su Wanxia shook her head: Idiot, send the stuff over quickly!
Ji Hua sent a sweating emoji, then whoosh whoosh whoosh, seven or eight files came through.
Su Wanxia received them one by one, saved them to her drive, and then told Ji Hua she was getting busy, telling him to continue dazzling on his own before setting her status to busy.
She wasn't pretending to be busy; she was genuinely overloaded, adjusting to a new work environment with a lot of things to organize, especially when starting a major design project from scratch, which was both energy and time-consuming.
The day flew by in a blur of busyness, and it was already 7 p.m. Su Wanxia, Meng Can, and Wen Lingya were still gathered together, discussing something earnestly.
Meanwhile, Mu Yingchen had just finished a day's work, put on his coat, and walked out the door.
Seeing him emerge, Ji Hua, Mu Feng, and a few others walked over to him, smiling cheerfully.
"Big brother, Wanxia is treating us to dinner later, do you want to join?" Ji Hua cheekily began.
Mu Yingchen raised an eyebrow, "Is that so?"
"Yes! Let's go together!" Mu Chuyang cut in. He was truly looking forward to it, eager to know whether his brother and Su Wanxia were involved, recalling the scene he saw that night, he could barely contain his excitement.
"Sure," Mu Yingchen replied casually.
"I'll call Lanlan and invite her too," Mu Feng said, walking toward a quiet corner as he spoke.
Mu Chuyang couldn't help but shout, "Hey, stop flaunting your love in front of us single folks, will you?"
Ji Hua checked the time; it was 7 p.m. Wanxia should have finished her work by now.
He then took out his phone and called her. After two or three attempts with no answer, he said.
"Big brother, no one's answering, let's go down and take a look."
Mu Yingchen frowned thoughtfully, then nodded at Ji Hua.
As they entered the so-called Architecture Department, they happened to see Su Wanxia and the others engaged in serious discussion.
Through the glass, Mu Yingchen could see her focused expression, her confident smile appearing every now and then, her long black hair simply pinned up with a hair stick, presenting a mix of mature charm.
"Sigh, who would have thought, Wanxia is actually the sensational designer Summer," Mu Feng couldn't help but marvel as he watched the spirited Su Wanxia.
"Yeah, the world is quite small after all," Ji Hua sat down on a chair nearby, crossing his legs comfortably.
He then looked at Mu Yingchen, whose gaze had been fixed on Su Wanxia, "Brother, you should thank me, it was me who suggested we collaborate with Huamei."
Ji Hua might have been better off not mentioning it, because as soon as he did, it touched a sore spot for Mu Yingchen, and his face suddenly darkened.
The others felt a little apprehensive, everything was fine a moment ago, how had his look changed so quickly?
Mu Yingchen's hands clenched tightly. How he wished she had returned for him, but that wasn't the case; she came back for her own dreams, her own aspirations she had always pursued.
