Whole Media stood outside the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel on a sunny day in London. They all wanted to know who would win the Big Tender, which would list the winner for one of Forbes' top construction companies worldwide. Many business tycoons were there.
Suddenly, the hotel's main gate opened, and three Aston Martin cars entered. As they stopped at the first car, a security guard opened the car doors in the middle.
From the third car, one manager came out. As the door opened, a mesmerising Greek God of handsomeness appeared out. Wearing black goggles of Taylor Morris, Black printed with strips tuxedo.
Everyone is amazed by Alvin Scott's aura, and why not? He was one of the most eligible bachelors in town. At a young age, he started his own company in construction, and within a few years, he took his company to the top. He was among the wealthiest men with a Self-Established Empire in the Construction World.
All the eyes were trying to absorb his beauty completely, but it was like time stopped for them when he walked into the conference room, where the name of the tender winner would be announced soon. His Fierce Competitor Derek Jacobi was also present there. Alvin spotted him and went straight to him to sit near him.
Derek also had a construction company, but his company was the second top company, not the first. He was first before Alvin's company started. But his success made him envious of Alvin. However, Alvin loved to see him crying to win, but still, he couldn't.
"So, are you ready to lose again?" Alvin said to Derek with a cunning smile. "The tender winner hasn't been disclosed, so don't be overconfident. Sometimes overconfidence kills." Derek replied with a stern face, not liking him around.
"Oh, so you think that you can win. You learned nothing from your past defeats." Alvin spoke in confidence.
Derek looked at Alvin and said, "Time will tell what I learn."
While talking with him, his gaze fell on his manager, who had recently entered the hall. Derek's manager waved some signal and then smiled.
Then he turned his face towards his most immense pain in the ass, Alvin, and said, "So it's time to taste bitter fruit for the first time for you, my boy." He smirked and allowed his manager to watch the government officials.
Soon, the so-called Government Officials entered the Conference room with an energetic smile and greeted everyone in the hall with unique gestures to Derek.
" Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you all are having a nice Day. We have received many tenders for this construction project of dollar one thousand crores. You all already know the details of the tender, so it's time to reveal the name of the lucky company." All heads had their eyes and ears open and turned in one direction only.
It was utterly silent in the hall. "
And the Winner of this Tender is...." Officers seized everyone present in the hall and again looked into his file, where all the details were written.
Overconfident, Derek adjusted his suit and was ready to stand from his chair, fully assured about his win this time.
"And the Tender goes to Mr. Alvinnnnn...…. ''.
All colours vanished from Derek's face, and he looked toward Alvin shockingly. He gazed toward Officer, who was still giving Derek an unknown smile. Alvin got up, and everyone started congratulating him. Then he turned toward Derek, standing behind him with a lost brain and a smirk on his face, and pulled him into a side hug.
"See, I told you, you learn nothing," he whispered in his ears, still hugging him. He smiled and walked toward the officer to sign the contract paper. Derek, on the other hand, who was furiously angry, moved out of the conference hall with the tail of his manager behind him.
"What have you done? When you entered the hall, you assured me that all Officers had the money and that they would give me a tender. Then, within a minute, how come things changed?" Derek angrily asked his manager, squeezing his neck to death.
"How could I know, sir? They assured me that this tender would go to you," the manager replied, coughing badly. He was struggling to stay alive. Derek pushed him back and hit the wall with his knuckles in anger.
Alvin walked to them with a smirk and turned to the furious one. "Don't be too angry. Winning and losing are part of our business, and you must be habitual about losing." Derek glared at him and barked, "One day, I will make you cry."
Alvin laughed hard and went toward the Media to share his victory with them. Here Derek was, pulling his hair in frustration.
The Government Officer to whom Derek gave the bribe to win the contract also came out of the hall. Derek's manager stopped him and pushed him to the corner. The government officer said nothing, took out the bribe money packet, and handed it to him.
Derek was hell-annoyed already because of this fiasco, so he rushed toward him as soon as he saw the officer.
"Hey, hey, you Moron…., you took money from me and worked for that bastard," Derek shouted, gritting his teeth in anger.
"Sir, please speak properly. We are not your slaves. Your bribe could put us in danger and even cause us to lose our jobs. Make sure we will never cross paths with each other." The officer replied to him with a firm voice and strode outside.
"Go and chase this bastard, as I want to know what game Alvin played this time," Derek ordered his manager, still futile in his voice. The poor lamb ran out without looking back at him.
Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pocket, and he fished out it to see who had the guts to call him.
"So you got to know how I won," Alvin spoke to Derek on the other hand of the phone.
Derek growled but said nothing.
"It's simple, Man. You gave a bribe to the officer, and I blackmailed the officer. And no one wants to spare his whole life in jail. So you are the only one because of whom I won the Tender. That's all," Alvin kept saying when he didn't receive a response from him, but he knew he was listening. You don't learn from your last defeats." Alvin cut the call without waiting for his reply with a crooked smile.
Derek smashed his phone on the wall loudly, not caring what happened to it the next moment.
Soon, Derek's manager comes running to him.
"Sir, I have important information for you. A New big tender, much bigger than this, will be open next month, and this time, I will give a new plan to win the tender." The manager blabbed with full enthusiasm, thinking this might help to cool his boss down.
As he said this, Derek turned toward him and gave him a tight slap. The manager was floored by his action, and now he was caressing his cheek, expecting an answer.
"You won't be doing anything. Because of you idiots, I am losing. So this time, I will plan it on my own." He punched him in his chest, "Go search for a new job. YOU ARE FIRED." he screamed again in anger.
