Natalie dashed down the stairs taking them two steps at a time while she wrapped her scarf around her neck, her eyes focused on Juan as she continued to run, the kind old butler was opening the front door.
Ugh. Why do I have to run into my father-in-law now?
She had no idea that he had left the mansion in the first place or where he had gone, but her dear father-in-law was making his way back into what her uncle accurately described as 'barracks' a few moments earlier. She acted as if she were busy on her phone while she got closer to the door until her arm was caught.
"Where do you think you're going?"
This is just too much.
Pulling her arm away, she glared up at her father-in-law. "I'm going to see my husband if that's alright with you," she spoke sarcastically.
"He'll be here for dinner; there are rules in this house that not even Alonso can break. Now go back to your room and wait for him there."
