Bitter Words
"M-M-Madam," Juan stuttered. "I would like to bring to your attention that this is not the way the president takes his coffee. Of course, you know better and may prepare it however you would like, but—"
"Mr. Juan, calm down, it's okay!"
Natalie lifted her eyes to the pale face of the butler fussing next to her and gave him a comforting smile.
"There are plenty of flavors out in the world, and I haven't met anyone who likes coffee and wouldn't enjoy a well-made Americano."
Ignoring the way the butler took his handkerchief from his pocket and started dabbing it on his sweaty forehead, Natalie took charge, taking the extra step to decorate the tray she would place the cup of coffee on with some flowers and adding a small cup of water. Making this coffee would have been impossible had Juan not been there to guide her through the massive kitchen which was the size of her entire apartment, so she still appreciated his presence regardless of how tense he was.
