Yami vs. Shinobu

Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu were sent out on a mission, but Yami wasn't included in this one. Maybe because he rudely crashed the Hashira meeting before, he couldn't be sure. Regardless, he wasn't missing out on much.

He continued to practice swinging his sword every day.

He was currently swinging his sword, when someone appeared behind him. He swung behind him and his sword was blocked by a thin sword. Shinobu said "Ara Ara... So sharp! When you crashed the Hashira meeting, I thought you were the cold type."

Yami didn't say anything and went back to training, ignoring Shinobu. She felt a vein appear on her forehead and she stabbed at him, he swung behind him and blocked her sword with an annoyed expression.

She giggled "Don't be like that, I want to fight with you, Yami-chan." Yami felt his eyes twitch at the name he was given. He might look a little girly because of his parents' looks, Hiro had the scar over his nose so he looked more manly that before, but his mom told him that Hiro looked more beautiful than handsome before he got the scar.

He was a bit irked that he looked like a girl, but in the end it didn't really matter as he couldn't change it anyway.

He pushed Shinobu's 'sword' off and slashed sideways, Shinobu jumped away and smiled saying "Angry?" Yami didn't say anything and sheathed his sword, looking at her. She pursed her lips and added, mostly to herself, "I guess you only talk to Eri-chan... I will make you talk to me." as she moved and appeared behind Yami, who twisted out of the way and swept his leg out at her feet before she even got there.

Shinobu jumped and stabbed at him, Yami held his hilt and unsheathed his sword extremely fast, slashing out at her stab. He blocked the stab and pushed Shinobu back. He crouched and jumped at her, flipping the blade in his hand and swinging the blunt part at her neck.

Shinobu blocked with her sword and smiled "So kind~" Yami slid the blade off her sword and held it in a reverse grip, spinning around and stabbing at her head as he muttered "Noisy woman..." she slashed at his stab before piercing at his head. Yami tilted his head to the side and dodged, he jumped back and looked at his scarf that now had a cut in it.

He trembled in anger and glared at Shinobu before exploding off the ground and slashing down with both hands. She was alarmed and held her sword out to block, Yami stopped and stomped on her stomach, sending her rolling away.

He chased after her and slashed down at her on the ground, right at her neck, She jumped off the ground and Yami curved upwards, flashing after Shinobu, who was now on the defensive and starting to sweat a bit.

She was truly shocked, he really looked like he wanted to chop her to bits! What happened?! Yami was getting angrier by the second and started speeding up, slashing faster and faster. They moved faster and faster, one chasing and the other running.

The others came to watch, but quickly noticed something was wrong.

Yami was releasing excessive rage and a hint of killing intent. Eri called her crow and said "Go get at least 2 more Hashira, quickly!" the crow flew off quickly.

Yami's sword started oozing purple haze, but it was different now. It was like fire but flowed like water, it was very strange. Nevertheless, he left a purple trail and slashed upwards.

Escape from Hell!

He jumped over Shinobu and slashed down.

Kanabo Crush!

He bounced off her sword and slashed sideways.

Sickle of the Damned!

He thrusted through the wave as his movements started flowing together.

Oni Spear through the Emperor!

He was blocked and landed on the ground, moving erratically, attacking Shinobu from all sides.

March of Death!

He sped up and lunged before slashing upwards and twisting his body, making a spiral slash.

6th form- Enma's Rage!

He jumped off the ground and slashed down again as the purple haze made a lightning bolt shape and slammed down on Shinobu's blocking sword, she was truly having a hard time now. Yami's attacks were hard, strong, fast, and never ending. She started to use her Insect Breathing and disappeared.

Rajin's Wrath!

Yami 'danced', dodging her stabs, as he closed his eyes and spun around slashing his sword out the purple haze bringing a breeze and making it hard to breathe around him.

8th Form- Fujin's Sorrow!

Shinobu backed off and positioned her sword to stab, holding it with both hands near her head. Yami held his sword with both hands over his head and the purple haze morphed into a Demon with a Kanabo behind him.

Yami's eyes glowed purple and the duo disappeared, they met in the middle and Yami slashed down on Shinobu's stab.

Demon King's Vengeance!

He followed through and flipped in a circle, making a ring around him as he came back on Shinobu's head.

10th Form- 9th Circle of Hell!

Shinobu jumped back and Yami cut into the ground before landing down and shooting off the ground at Shinobu, sheathing his sword and flashing to Shinobu, appearing right in front of her. His eyes gleamed and his hand blurred before clicking back into place.

11th Form- Kamaitachi's curse!

His sword was blocked by a new one and Giyu appeared, blocking his slash. He looked at Yami and said "That's enough." Yami stood up and let out a heavy breath, he looked at Giyu before nodding and walking away.

Giyu watched as Yami sat down on a rock and took out his sword, running his fingers over the edge before taking out the sharpening kit and taking care of his sword. Giyu sheathed his sword and said "What did you do?" Shinobu replied "I didn't do anything!"

Giyu looked at Yami and saw the cut on his scarf, he sighed and said "Look, you cut his scarf." Shinobu blinked and said "So? It's just a dingy scarf." Giyu explained "His scarf is important to him. When I got to the Lower 5 demon, there was only a head left and he was holding tattered pieces of that very scarf. I didn't really do anything except cut the head in half. The rest of it was already turning to ashes. I don't know what he did, but it was not what he did just now. If I didn't get here, you would've probably been injured or dead."

Shinobu was stunned and Giyu looked at Yami before muttering "He's much stronger than he was before..." as he walked away, leaving Shinobu at a loss for words. Giyu added "This is why people don't like you." before leaving, making Shinobu's eyes twitch in anger.

Yami ignored them and Eri ran over. She put her hands on her hips and puffed her cheeks as she chided "You shouldn't try and kill people because your scarf got cut, Yami!" Yami blinked at her and she puffed her cheeks even bigger, they stared at each other and Yami finally sighed and said "Sorry."

Eri smiled happily and hugged him, saying "Good! What are you doing~?" Yami smiled "Sharpening." Eri said "Ou! Can I try!?" Yami scratched his cheek and said "I'll teach you first, go get your sword." Eri cheered and skipped away. Yami watched her go with a warm smile, she always made him happy with her cheerful personality.

She came back and Yami started teaching her how to sharpen the sword, doing a little sibling bonding, while Shinobu was in her own thoughts. That was a supposed near death experience! She needed to digest it and get better.
