The main event of this Rising tournament was to determine the winner of the lightweight tournament. The final four had already been selected through fierce preliminaries. Originally, Rising had planned a revenge match between Furuya Uno and Yu Jung-ak.

They had envisioned the two meeting naturally through the tournament. Additionally, they planned to bring in Aoki Junya, the top-ranked Japanese lightweight, to make the event even bigger. However, a problem arose - Yu Jung-ak's military service issue.

So Rising negotiated with Best and only had Furuya Uno enter the Rising lightweight tournament. Furuya Uno, like the other fighters, made it to the final four with overwhelming performances in the preliminaries.
