The heavy black mechas pressed over the roadway, like giant tanks, shaking the earth; and as the combatants gradually entered wartime status, the sound of artillery fire became more and more frequent.
From a distance on top of a building, square beehive rockets were launched continuously, then they arced through the air on various twisting paths, aiming for those heavy mechas on the street below.
Faced with such an assault, these black steel mechas sank lower, reducing their exposure to the incoming fire, and then allowed those rocket shells to pound on their surfaces, igniting various flashes of light.
Waiting for the flames and smoke to dissipate, aside from some scrapes on the surface from the bombardment, those heavy black mechas seemed unaltered, demonstrating a surprising level of protective ability.
