Chapter 4 - I woke up and...

I've decided to go by the name Katharos, or Kath for short.

Now that I've settled on a name, I need to find a place to sleep.

Ideally, I'd like a house, but the goblins are worn out from the fight, and it's nighttime, so I can't ask them to build one.

I guess I'll just have to sleep on a tree. My small body shouldn't have any trouble with that.

So, I climbed onto a tree in the village and settled into sleep.

I woke up a few hours later. I can't sleep for years now that I'm here.

That was also the shortest sleep I've had so far, but I'll have to get used to short sleeps now that I'm here.

I jumped off the tree and looked around. Rimuru hadn't started naming the creatures yet, so at least I didn't oversleep.

That's good because I want to ask him to change one of the three rules he set. He made a mistake by not thinking it through, and it almost turned into a disaster.

As I walked around the village, I saw that not many people were awake.

I didn't expect to wake up so early, but it's good because now I can talk to Rimuru about changing the rules.

Why am I so insistent on changing the rules? I want to see what will happen if the creatures would defend themselves. Will Rimuru ever awaken as a Demon Lord? But that's a question for the future.

Right now, I sense Rimuru nearby and head to find him. Slimes don't sleep, so I know he'll be awake.

"Well, well, yesterday you were just a slime unaware that your aura was leaking, and today you're the leader of the Goblins and Wolves. Congratulations on the promotion, Rimuru."

"That's very funny, Misfortune."

"No longer just Misfortune. I'm Katharos Misfortune from now on."

"Wait! Why do you suddenly have a name? Is a name important to monsters? I ask because I haven't heard any goblins use names."

"When a name is given to a monster, it undergoes evolution and becomes stronger."

"I see. Did you become stronger? I don't sense any change. Do you hide your power or well.. are you just weak?"

"No, I didn't become stronger by naming myself monsters don't become stronger that way, and you just can't feel my power."

"I understand. So if I name the goblins, will they become stronger?"

"Yes, that's what I said."

"Also Katharos I meant to ask it for a while are you an otherworlder? I ask because the way you speak Is a little different from the Goblins."

"Well, you could say that."

"So you are an otherworlder but what do you mean by the way you said that?"

"It's nothing important Rimuru."

"Well okay I'm not insisting you need to know that I'm also an otherworlder I died because I was stabbed to death."

"I guessed this much when you asked and I won't share how I got there but I can assure im not from there."

"Well okay don't say that if you do not want to."

"That's okay but now I have a question for you Rimuru as a Leader you should add some rules so did you think about some?"

"Well, I have three rules first Don't attack humans. Two...."

"Wait a second there change the first rule."

"Why I don't see any problem."

"You see named monsters don't go against the commands of the person that named them most of the time in such case if human attacked them they wouldn't defend themself and be killed just change it so that they can attack in case they were attacked."

"Well in that case let's do it like that the second rule is no fighting amongst yourself three no belittling other races."

"These are good enough I guess now that you have them go and announce them to others."

"Thanks for your help Katharos thanks to you I got many of useful knowledge."

"No need to thank we are friends don't we?"

"Friend? Yes! We are friends Kath."

Just like that Rimuru and I ended our little conversation after which we went to announce the rules and name them of course not me but Rimuru will do the naming as of now I don't plan on naming anyone maybe my Treyni in the future but thats it.

After the naming and Rimuru being unconscious I was doing something that would make my position only below Rimuru.

I was teaching people many things like building or farming how do I know it well Misfortunes happen there so of course I know.

Thanks to me the buildings don't look like they would fall with any chance they got.

They could be better but without special techniques or good equipment it would take too much time so we have to do it for now I also was telling them how to make traps so they don't have to go hunt so much.

With this people already started to see me as someone like a leader but as they have one already I'm probably like a vice leader.

I also got myself a big house so I no longer have to sleep on the tree while the house isn't perfect when compared to the others you can see it is better than others which is why I do not have complaints.

That's how the next three days went I plan to tag with Rimuru to Dwargon tomorrow.
