Forgiveness

Before he even knew what he was doing, he had flung a three pronged Kunai towards the bullet.

Minato's kunai met the bullet mid-air with a sharp clang, sparks scattering as the bullets path was veered away from the officer.

Minatos narrowed eyes snapped to Magento, the man was glaring at him. What Minato was about to say would make that far worse.

"Let them leave" He said seriously, his blue eyes cold and focused.

Magneto's mouth turned up in a mockery of a smirk, his eyes green and burning with fury. This man had tried to kill his son, why would he bow to his wishes.

"Why would I?" Magneto rhetorically asked, he didn't expect a real answer, and he definitely didn't expect Minato's response.

"I've marked your son, with my seal." He said, the words making Magneto furrowed his brow in confusion, and a hint of worry though that was largely ignored under the anger.

"I can instantly teleport to anything I mark with my seal" Minato explained, dawning horror fell onto Magnetos features as he processed what that meant.

The words felt like a guillotine at Magneto's neck as he quickly realised the implications of the man's words.

"You…" his voice quivered with rage, the atmosphere surrounding the man seemed to charge with pent up energy, a metallic hum filled the air as the ground started to shake and rumble.

"Let the officers go" Minato demanded, his narrowed eyes focused on the man who didn't acknowledge his words.

"You need those knives to teleport" Magneto's words rang with confidence, but a flicker of uncertainty crept into his heart. He tried to push it down, to cling to his fury, he would not be manipulated! But…thought of his son in this man's crosshairs…that was a fear he couldn't shake.

His eyes burned with fury, but beneath that heat laid an icy fire that desperately clawed away at him.

Minato's eyes narrowed further, he could teleport straight to the man's son now, but that would mean leaving these people alone with him.

His eyes snapped to the officer who was nearly shot, the man was wide eyed staring into space, the officers behind him weren't all too aware right now either.

They were terrified beyond belief.

"Call my bluff" Minato said seriously. "I've killed people for less" he said flatly "Don't make me add your son's name to that list." He was a ninja first and foremost.

Ninjas listened to their higher ups, even if they asked the impossible.

Magneto felt the icy needles of fear stab into his heart, tempering his fury. He had fought to protect mutants his whole life, but now his son's life was falling into the hands of this…this assassin.

This wasn't like his usual fights, his Brotherhood fighting away while he traded ideals and ideas with Charles.

This was his son's life, any mistake now could lead to his son's death.

His jaw clenched "The officers can leave" he growled, it wounded him to have to listen to this man's demands…but, but he would not risk his son.

Not now, not ever.

Minato nodded "Go on" his voice serious and clear, the officers still hesitant but after a few moments they all seemed to scatter, running straight for the front door.

The officers left and few moments of silence passed as the two men started at one another.

Minato eyed the titan across from him fearlessly, he was the one with the power here. "Now leave" he said with narrowed eyes and a loose, fluid posture.

Magneto's jaw clenched, his teeth grinding together as he stared at the young man. To be so demanding, if his son wasn't at risk, he would have killed this man already.

"I will not hurt your son" Minato reassured calmly.

The ground seemed to roar, screams erupting from outside the station at the sudden shaking.

Minato's attempt at reassurance only seemed to infuriate Magneto, the idea that this man held such power over him because of a simple seal.

He needed to get the seal off his son, no matter what it took.

The sound of a large engine suddenly entered the scene, a familiar black Jet they both recognised.

The X-Men had arrived.

The screams outside quietened down, even a cheer or two was shouted out as the heroes had arrived.

Magneto knew what this meant, the X-Men arriving forced his hand.

He needed to leave or call in the Brotherhood.

But he could not call in the brotherhood right now, he needed all eyes on Pietro as soon as possible, he needed to return home.

His eyes focused back onto the blonde man, the man's cold eyes bothering him far more than they should, his anger surged, this man…this man would pay, but not now.

Magneto quickly flew off in a blur, his main priority was his son.

Incidentally the cars Magneto was holding in the air lost his control, they came crashing down towards the blonde ninja.

Minato simply used his Thunder God jutsu, blinking from the station to one of his kunai implanted in the wall right next to the entrance to the station.

He efficiently exited the station, the cars crashing down behind him with an ear shattering set of clangs and beeping alarms.

Plumes of smoke and dust suddenly exploded from any opening the destroyed station, the large cloud almost hiding the entire station from view for a few seconds.

When the dust settled the building was revealed, what was once a thriving police station was now more akin to an abandoned building, its windows were all shattered, the previously white outer walls now an ugly dirty grey due to a new thick coating of dust and ash.

The large NYPD sign now precariously hanging, looking like it was due to fall to the ground at any disturbance.

Minato walked towards the approaching X-Men, Cyclops at the front of the super group.

Though Cyclops wasn't watching him, instead looking into the distance with where Magneto had flown into the far distance, his hand gently resting against the side of his visor.

Other X-Men were quickly evacuating anyone caught in the crossfire of the attack, a giant metal man was lifting debris from the road allowing ambulances to drive closer to any potential victims.

A woman ran past him and seemed to phase right through the police station's walls.

A red haired woman lifting debris with telekinesis allowing a short muscular man to save any survivors underneath.

Charles hovered his bright yellow chair towards the blonde man, his eyes rapidly running across Minato's uninjured form with some disbelief running through him.

"You saved those men and women" Charles said gratefully as he looked up at the blonde man, however Minato like Cyclops was glancing into the distance looking for any sign of the man.

Minatos focused snapped onto Xavier "I did" he replied nonplussed.

"You did a good job," Charles said with a small smile. "Though I must ask, how did you stall him for so long?" Charles said in reference to the fact the two clearly hadn't been fighting.

"I didn't stall him" Xavier seemed confused and looked like he was about to speak, so Minato clarified "I told him to let the officers leave, or I would kill his son" he said calmly as his eyes snapped back to the horizon.

Charles suddenly straightened, "You threatened his son?" he asked, his mind racing at the potential ramifications.

'Pietro is just a teenager' the thought rushed through Charles head as he observed the cold edge to Minato's eyes 'but he doesn't care' a cold feeling settled in Xavier's gut as he eyed the man.

Minato nodded, his eyes now flicking around the chaos, looking to see if any survivors were being overlooked. But it appeared the X-Men had it covered.

"Minato" Charles said, catching the attention of the cold blonde man who turned and locked eyes with the bald man. "Magneto will not forgive that" he stated, he knew the man well.

"It may surprise you, but many men will never forgive me," Minato said calmly as his fragmented memories of the third ninja war played through his head.

The memory of Minato stood behind a bisected Sabretooth shot through Charles' head then the image of Pietros pale bleeding body.

It didn't surprise Charles at all that many men would never forgive him.

"He will come for you, for your family, he won't stop" Charles said, trying to stress the ramifications of Minato's actions.

An image of little Naruto appeared in Minato's mind, and even though they were still a world apart a protective flame lit in his chest.

His jaw clenched, his cold eyes flicking to the horizon. "I would kill him before he ever got a look at my family"
