Chapter 4: THE ENCOUNTER

I dragged my self to the elevator, I feel like breaking down but I won't do that until I get to the comfort of my room, I press the button for first floor as the elevator started moving I feel so dizzy, oops I think I really need to go to the hospital.

    Hey Lawrence, I saw my driver at the front of the company, yes ma'am are going for a business meeting, where to miss, no Lawrence am taking the day off. What Lawrence open his mouth surprise, yes Lawrence I know it a first and am surprise too but em you take me to the hospital first. Ok ma'am.

        My phone vibrated taken me out of my trance of my discussion with dad earlier, hello Alice, yes Miss I just heard your doctor went on leave, ok I was expecting that seeing that she will put to bed soon , yes Miss so she said another doctor has been assigned to her office and she guarantees that you are in safe hands.

      I just got off the call with him and I already fix your appointment so you should go to the hospital now, thanks Alice am on my way already, ok ma'am. Alice was my mother's maid and  has always been overprotective of me since my mother died, she has always been there for me. Dropping Alice call, Evelyn's call came in, hi Evelyn missing me already, I just left the office, I know darling and I shouldn't be telling you this right now but I have to cause we have to take a quick action, she rush on.

      Ok Evelyn take it easy and tell me slowly what happened, ok so the HR officer came into the office and gave me a letter of internal transfer and it was stated that we, I mean you have been transfer to the marketing department and you are to step down as the manager and move out of the office in 48hrs.

        Hmmmm so Dad is serious about this, I didn't expect him to move this fast, what are you talking about I heard Evelyn panicking on the phone, you mean you know about this. Mina how can your father do this to you after everything you have done for the company and to get to this position, we have to do something you shouldn't take this. Don't worry Evelyn am thinking about it already I will see what I can do, will call you later, ok.

       Wow, my dad is taking this far and too far at that, I need to do something, I can't allow this to happen to me, what will I do at the marketing department, all my effort to make sure that Mother's work never go in vain will come to an end just like that, hmmmm,.............

        Miss we are here, oh thanks Lawrence you can park well I will be right back it won't be long since I already have an appointment, ok ma'am.  Welcome Miss Bernard  you are right on time the doctor is waiting for you please go in, thank you nurse. I went inside the doctor's room only to bump into a nice and broad chest, hey easy there are you okay, hmmm this sounds like the sweetest voice have ever heard.

             The owner of the voice must be as sweet, am sorry, am fyn , I wasn't looking where am going I said looking up into a pair of large brown eyes, saying the owner of the voice is sweet is an understatement, he's awesome, hey Mina what are you doing salivating over a man you just met when you have a lot on your plate right now, my guardian angel which is my brain point of the fact flat to me, get ur acts together girl.

       Hello are you okay you seem to be zoning out, am fine really, okay so umm are you Miss Bernard he ask looking on the file in his hand, yes I am, okay please have your sit while I call the nurse to come and do your usual check up. Okay but am not really here for my check up I came bearing complains though I might as well do my check up since am here .

      Ok, tell me then, I start telling the tales of what am feeling, he called the nurse and gave orders of their medical terms that are alien to me, Miss Bernard you follow the nurse for the test then you come here with her. After what took like forever am back in the doctor's office. Miss Bernard there is no cause for alarm you are running a fever but it a high one and also your blood pressure is a little bit high and you seems to be emotionally unstable .

      So you will be here at least for the rest of the day you will take a drip to lower the fever, get your medications and then you can leave. Doctor can I just take the medications alone I can't be here the whole day I really have a lot to do. Miss Bernard it seems you do not understand what I just said you are running a high fever which is due to stress anymore stress it will be drastic on your health so please follow my instructions and you can leave at night.

          Thank you Doctor but I really have to leave, am strong so I will be fine with the medications. Okay if you say so, the nurse will give you the prescription so you can get the drugs at the pharmacy. Thank you doctor, you are welcome get better soon and have a nice day. I got out of my sit and leave for the pharmacy.
