Chapter 8: The Unwelcomed Visitor
[AT THE RESTAURANT]
Like any other day in the village, I clean the restaurant and ready all the ingredients that will be needed early in the morning before I start for business. Gilbert usually helps me with cleaning the cooking wares in the kitchen.
"Ding-Ding", the vintage brass doorbell ringed due to the two men entering my restaurant.
" Ah dear customers, the restaurant still hasn't open.....yet", I informed them but was surprised to see yet another familiar face other than Cassandra.
"Rose? You're alive?", Brother Theodore asked when he sees my face with a confused tone.
"For real? How can this be?", Brother Thomas also getting confused upon seeing me?
I was shaken in fear and my face turned pale when I see both of my brothers in front of me. I then tried to maintain my composure to avoid suspicion from both if them any further.
"I think you have the wrong person, my name is Sasha", I replied to their question as if I don't understand what do they mean.
"Rose! please don't joke around anymore, we're sorry for what we did to you so please return with us together", Thomas adamantly won't let me away while apologized with his gentle tone and persuade me to return to my noble life with that kind of family.
After hearing those words and tone, it made my spine shudder and I never felt so disgusted in my life by hearing him spouting those words from his mouth.
He then tried to extend his arm towards me but the event of my traumatic death started flashing back before my eyes.
"Nooo!", I screamed pitifully.
Gilbert then appeared from behind just in time to grabbed Brother Thomas's arm tightly as he holds me with his warm body. My fear and anxiety finally went away as he stays close beside me.
" What do you think you're doing to my girl?", Gilbert stares at them with his menacing eyes.
"W...We...We're sorry",
Brother Thomas groaned in pain because of Gilbert gripped his hand with his full strength while Brother Theodore jolted by his stares and apologized while stuttered out of fear to Gilbert.
After that, Gilbert chase both of them out of the restaurant and made me a cup of tea to comfort me after what happened just a moment ago.
" What actually happened between you and them? You can stay silent if you don't want to tell me",
"..."
I choose to stay silent since I know he could not do anything about the problem I had right now.
"Sigh, fine but whatever happens, please don't forget that I will always be there to help you with your problems", he reminded me about the vow that he made two months ago.
Thinking back about what he said to them about me being his girl when he defended me from my brothers made me die out of embarrassment.
After that, my face turned red like a strawberry whenever I faced him while he didn't know the reason why I reacted like but find it to be cute.
[MARQUIS MANOR]
Theodore meets with maid Cassandra while she is cleaning the hallway at noon.
" Hey Cassandra, could you answer my question honestly?", Theodore asked her to cooperate with his question.
"As long if it's in my knowledge, Milord", she replied.
" Is Rose still alive?", he asked directly straightforward to her without wasting any more time.
"I don't know! Why don't you asked that dirty hand of yours!", she snapped at his question and answered it sarcastically without hesitation.
" Uh no, I don't mean it like tha..",
"I'm sorry Milord, but I'm currently busy right now",
before he could finish his sentence she cut his word because she was pissed about their conversation. She then continues to clean the hallway while ignoring him.
