Chapter 21

There she stood drenched in the metallic smell of blood and the wafting stench of sweat before the unit of assassins that she calls her 'friends'. The enchanting memory of an angelic looking man haunts her mind distracting her from the commands and concerns of her comrades. The mission was the last thing that she had on her mind. Her mind was scattered, all she could see was crimson colored liquid staining their clothes, their skin… everything, her 'friends' had encountered something they couldn't escape from receiving terrible damage, yet she could not focus, not on the three deterioration men before her but only on the endearing man that still defiles her mind.

She stood frozen, clueless, helpless. She had thought that the trained assassins would survive with merely a few scratches but the state they were in would be more equivalent to a unit of lifeless soldiers that have succeeded in war but collapsed at the cry of victory no longer able to stand. She panicked, what had happened during the time she was gone various versions had played in her mind of what the three men before had to have encountered prior to their arrival at her location but after she had carried an innocent angel to the safety of her family.

The man yet again invaded her vision, that cruel and wicked smirk, had he played a part in this?

Once again stuck in thought, she heard the faint sobbing and whimpering from her teammates, that seemed to cut her trance off short, she started thinking and acting straight away. A derelict house came into her peripheral vision, she weakly assisted Aoi first to the abandoned building with his arm hung over her shoulder. She escorted the bubbly fighter while Sion had Soji's limb body on his back struggling for breath but dragging himself to a safer location than broad daylight once she had gathered the army of friends and returned to her location she was at only moments ago to ensure nothing was left behind to show they were ever there.

She returned hoping everyone was safe, praying her ability to mend their wounds like her birth mother once did for her but as she was only ten steps away from the entrance her heart sank to her stomach….
