The surface was always an unknown place, forbidden to be seen or explored, those who had gone there....never returned. I remember when my sister went hunting one day, it was during this time when fish would be scarce and the hunters would have to venture farther and farther each year just to get a few bites to eat. That day my sister went farther then anyone had ever gone, she disappeared for 2 days before coming back home with loads of fish, I swam up to her at lightning speed and asked her "Where were you? What happened? Why were you gone do long? How did you get all this fish? When did you get back?" She looked at me, her beautiful green eyes filled with joy, but there was something wrong. Her eyes were also filled with fear, they were glazed over, she looked at me with such joy and happiness though. She set the heavy bags of fish down and hugged me like there was no tomorrow, her embrace comforted me and then she finally said "I have big news." She looked lost, the fire in her eyes had gone dull, she then proceeded to tell me about a magical place where there is an endless supply of fish and even rare delicacies of fish. The only thing was that she said her gills, throat, and lungs hurt and burned when she breathed but she got used to it. She finally told me she went into the unknown, I could feel myself go pale.
