EXCERPT. "What do you mean?" "What I mean Ethan is that i can't live with a man who i am not married to." Maria snapped at me, her face flushed with emotion. This was the first time she had ever raised her voice at me. I could tell she was hurting. "So what do you want me to do?" Though i asked, a part of me already had a clue as to what she might say. "A divorce. I want you to divorce her so-." "I can't" I quickly cut her off. "Why not? Is there some law which says you can't?!" Maria paused. Her body trembling with rage," For God sake you were drunk Ethan! So was she! You have enough reason to get.-" "That's not what I meant." "Then what do you mean?" I didn't understand it myself. I had no idea what had come over me, but the flame. It burned deep inside my chest. I had to understand what it meant. "I want to feel it." "Feel what Ethan? You're not making any sense!" "I'm not stupid. Even though I was drunk i still had some Sense. There's no way i could have married her if i didn't have a reason. If i didn't feel something." "What are you trying to say to me Ethan." Maria slowly approached me, tears dripping down her face. I looked away from her, i didn't want my gaze to meet hers. I knew what i was doing wasn't right, i just couldn't stop myself. I had to find out what happened that night. "What I'm trying to say is that. I need to feel it. I need to understand what i felt for her that made me marry her. I need to understand that feeling and until i get that... I can't divorce her." "What?" "I'm sorry Maria." I knew i had hurt her, i knew what i was doing was wrong. But there was nothing more i could do. My mind was made up.

Let me explain.

"Everyone let me introduce to you, Mr and Mrs Ethan Alexander." The priest announced and everyone applauded. There was so much noise, people were cheering and throwing flowers at us. I held Janet's hand tightly, never wanting to let go. As we stood Infront of the crowd, i noticed Janet wriggling beside me, like she was uncomfortable.

'Was is the noise?'

She seemed discomforted by the noise, she moved to cover her ears. "Thank you everyone." I hushed everyone with the wave of my hand. I didn't want the woman beside me to be uncomfortable. I had so many questions. How was this even possible? After the rounds of congratulatory messages thrown our way, we walked down the aisle together, her hand in mine. The reception was scheduled to hold immediately after and the guests had already started moving into the reception tent.

I and Janet had reached the building inside the garden which we were supposed to change into our reception attire. I planned that the moment we got to my room, I'd lock the door and sit her down so that she'd explain everything. Not that i wasn't pleased with the turn of events, bit i had to understand it all. We had almost reached my room, my grip thighs on her hand.

"Hey!" I yelled. She had bit my hand and immediately started running in the opposite direction. Andrew who was far behind us watched her as she passed him by. He ran up to meet me.

"Sir what's going on? Why is Maria running?"

"That's not Maria, it's Janet i remember her face! Just run after her!" I rushed my words before starting the chase. Andrew following quickly behind me. Janet was fast, she made swift twists and turns, heading straight for Maria's chamber on the other wing of this building. She held her gown in her hands as she raced across the halls. I couldn't loose her. I picked up my pace, i was right behind her. I stretched out my hands to grab her.

"This way!" One of the bride's maids yelled. She was standing infrint of the door if Maria's chambers. It was open. Immediately, Janet picked up her pace. *WHAM!* The door locked as soon as she entered.

"Out of my way!" I yelled erratically to the woman infront of the door, she was blocking me. 'Did they all plan this?'

"I'm sorry." She stuttered, her head low. I was about to push her away when the door creaked open.

"Were you waiting for me?" Maria emerged out of the door, wearing her reception gown. 'What was happening?'

"Maria." I struggled to maintain my tone as my lungs felt like there were going to explode, "Where is she?" I huffed.

"Who?" She asked nonchalantly.

"Don't play with me. Where's the woman i married?!"

"I'm right here!" She screamed, emotions fulling her face. "Mm-hm."She cleared her throat. She straighten her back and wiped her eyes with her fingers. "Let's go the guests are waiting." She proceeded to walk away when i immediately dragged her back. I was done with her games.

"What . are. you. playing. at?" I gritted my teeth. I wasn't sure how Maria found out about Janet or why she did all this. I needed an explanation.

"If you want to know, suck it up. Let's go attend our reception after we can talk." She said haughtly before leaving. Her bride's maids followed her closely behind. They made sure to lock the room before leaving.

"What that.-" I was puzzled. Unable to com-.

"Did. We. Get. Her?" Andrew finally arrived. Panting heavily. He held unto a vase for support as he tried desperately to catch his breath. "What. Did. Janet. Say? What. Did. She. loookk. Like?" That's right. Andrew didn't see her. The tape, i need to watch the footage. I need answers.

"Let's go." I walked passed him. I heard him exclaim in the background, he had been put through a lot today.

I sat down behind the bed. "Out of my way!" I heard the man scream from outside. I did not know what i would have done if he got in.

"Stay here. Don't come out no matter what. During the reception, some people will come and see you off." Miss Maria stated as she finished putting on her gown.

"Mm-hm." I nodded. My body still trembling with uncertainty. "And Andrew?" I dared to question.

"You said he didn't know right? Well just have to keep it that way. As far as no one else has the footage, he will never find out. I'll have you moved away if things get to roudy." She stated, not a hint of empathy in her voice. She was cold to me, I was sure she resented me. But it was not my fault.

"Roxanne?" She called, her hand in the door nob.

"Y-yes?"

"I hope our paths never cross again." She hissed before stepping out the door.

"Me too." I mumbled, pulling my legs closer to my chest as i whimpered in silence.

"What are you talking about?!" Annie yelled. Some minutes ago, a strange woman surrounded by bodyguards came barging into her apartment looking for me. That was when i got a disturbing call from someone saying Annie was in trouble, within ten minutes i arrived.

"ANNIE ARE YOU OKAY?!" I flung the front door open.

"Is this her?" The strange woman approached me with a demeaning gaze.

"I-I know you. You're Andrew's boss's wife. W-why are you hurting Annie?" I questioned. I had a feeling she wasn't here for a friendly invitation to her wedding.

"Huh!" She scoffed, "The only person doing any hurting here is you!" She pointed. She kept pacing round the room. My gaze shifted towards Annie, she was in shock but she looked alright. If so, why was i called here?

"What do you mean?" I inched closer to her. Her bodyguards eased up, allowing me to reach her. "Why are you here. Isn't today your wedding?"

"That's exactly why I'm here." She paused, with an unapproving tone she said, "I want you to marry my husband in my stead."

"Y-you're joking!" I exclaimed.
