The environment on Alien Planet was not the most complex we had encountered. We had also tried to nurture new life on planets where gravity was only one-sixth of our own. We had conducted experiments on planets where the gravity was twice, even three times that of our own.
Previously, we thought that a higher gravity environment might give birth to stronger life forms.
But without exception, as long as there was no atmosphere capable of nurturing life, those planets were all unsuitable for the birth of new life. The Royal Academy of Sciences explained that an atmosphere can block most of the harmful space radiation; without an atmosphere, new life would be harmed by this radiation during conception, birth, and growth.
