Chapter 152 It's Over

Banner was the last to enter the blue portal, and it fizzled slowly behind him. The atmosphere was heavy with a long silence!

The portal brought the group back to Tony's villa. It was the natural choice; Tony's villa was large and convenient for discussions and gatherings!

"Dr. Banner, come with me to change your clothes. I can't let you look like that while there are women present!"

"Uh, thank you, Mr. Stark!"

Banner readily agreed to Tony's suggestion. Tony then brough Banner to the changing room!

"Where is this? What are we going to do next?"

It took less than five minutes for Banner to change his clothes and return to the living room. He was curious about their next course of action!

This was obviously the first time that Banner had visited Tony's villa, so he was shocked by the sheer scale and luxury! He was a relatively famous and well-paid scientist before, but he had never seen anything remotely close to this!

But the sock didn't last long, and he quickly regained his calm. He still need to know what his role in the alliance was!

"This is my villa. You are currently homeless, so I have no choice but to take you in for now! I'll be building a new headquarter for the alliance at the Stark tower. You can move there later!"

Tony generously said that he would take the homeless Banner in. His villa had a lot of rooms, after all. It wouldn't be a problem even if all six of the alliance member moved here!

"Both of us are genius scientists, it is only right that we should communicate our research and experiances with each other. Who knows what we could achieve!"

There weren't many people that Tony acknowledge, and even fewer among them were scientists. After all, Tony had his own pride as a genius. In his eyes, most people were just quacks that fished for fame!

But Doctor Banner and his seven doctorate, as well as unmatched expertise in electron collision, was enough to make Tony put down his pride and acknowledge Banner as an equal!

This was also why Tony and Banner went along in the original Avengers movies! The real geniuses have their own way of communicating!

"I can just live wherever—I've been on the run from the military all this time, so I don't care about that kind of stuff. This place is like paradise to me.

"Still, our alliance was formed to protect world peace, right? What now? Shouldn't we go out and do something?"

Banner watched as Thor skillfully took out beer from the refrigerator before sitting on the sofa and drank it. He was a little stunned. Didn't they say that they would protect world peace?

Drunk driving is against the law, but why is there no law for drunk peacekeeping?

"Eh, you should sit down and take a rest for now! Didn't we tell you that our alliance was barely a few hours old?

"And we won't be going around for every little incidents! Trivial things like bank robberies or whatever are obviously below specialists like us. We should let the police take care of those; we're tax-paying citizens, after all!

"We will only take action when the world is in existential danger, just like the Dormammu invasion that can destroy the earth! That is what we should care about!"

Tony dismissed Banner's words as he also sat on the sofa, leaving Banner dumbfounded.

"It was only made a few hours ago? And destruction of the Earth? Dormammu invasion? I don't understand what you are talking about!"

Banner finally followed suit and rested on the sofa; his body was still in a lot of pain! But he couldn't ignore the baffling words that Tony had used!

Most baffling was the fact that the aliance must have been formed only moments before they met him!

"Am I being scammed?"

Banner was speechless!

"Oh right, I forgot that you and the people outside our group got your time reversed and forgot everything about Dormammu's invasion! Well, you're in the alliance now, so there's no need to keep it secret!

"A few hours ago, the Earth experienced an existential threat. A powerful creature from another dimension called Dormammu tried to invade and devour Earth! We took action to resolve this incident and drive Dormammu away from Earth! Then, time reversed and erased the memories of civilians about this incident!"

Tony briefly explained about Dormammu to Banner, conveniently leaving out the part where he got killed dozens of times.

Tony was speaking in nonchalant tone, but Banner's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe any of it! He spontantenously stood up from the sofa with a serious face!

"Time reversal? Extradimensional creatures invading Earth? Are these all true? When did this world become like this?"

It took Banner quite a while to digest everything Tony had said and recover from his shock.

Banner's response was understandable. It was like if you suddenly found a book about secret martial arts in your parents' notes, tried practicing it, and found that inner energy cultivation was real!

Then, after decades of bitterly cultivating inner energy and reaching Supreme Peak, you go out to the world. You were sure of your invincibility, only to find that the world outside was full of even more outlandish cultivators that could control flying swords and even ride on them!

That would be how Banner was feeling right now!

After all, Banner's own circumstances was already beyond fantastical, but he discovered even more unthinkable things happened out there. He was told that the world was almost destroyed for no reason. Anyone would be shocked by this revelation!

"This incident made us realize that this wasn't the first, and won't be the last time that the safety of the world would be endangered. That's why we created the Justice League to protect our world!"

Tony's expression became more serious towards the end of his explanation. After all, he could foresee countless danger in their future.

Banner quietly sorted out his thoughts. Today's events had been a great impact on him.

The sun finally set, shining golden light throughout the villa and on everyone.

It had been a busy day, but it tooreached its end. Everyone in the room felt that the day was longer than any of the previous days. It lasted for dozens of chapters, after all!

But fortunately, it was finally over!

"Sigh! Let's be glad that we lived to see another sunset!"

For some reason, Tony became sentimental and sighed while looking at the sunset outside the window!

"It's getting dark. In celebration of our success in saving the world and the official establishment of our Justice League, why don't we hold a party tonight?"
