CH 87: Gamora's Annoyance

[ Somewhere in the Milky Way Galaxy ]

"Murder Gal, we are finally just a few jumps away from C-53," Rocket chuckled, "But I can't help but ask, what do you plan on doing with the mind control bitch who killed your uncle?"

"I AM GROOT!" The adult Groot said something and then his body shook as if laughing.

"Hahahaahahaha" Rocket's laugh was uncontrollable, wiping his tears he spoke again, "Groot, you can't say that to her face!"

Gamora just silently clutched on the handle of the ship, her expression was deadly emotionless. Groot's joke was not funny at all!

These guys were being too annoying these days, first, they got themselves and her into trouble with the whole Xandarian army in their back because Rocket stole a freakin' plant!

And it seems like the plant was a serious big deal!

While initially, it was only Xanderians who were at their backs, soon the Kree ships had also started pursuing her ass.

And the whole mess stretched for months when the trio was imprisoned for 4 weeks.

"Ummm!! Hmmm!!!!" A gagged-up lady stirred in her restraints.

And then there was her!

A Xandarian soldier that they used as a hostage to escape from a whole battalion!

"Ummm!! HMMMM UMMMM!!!!" The kidnapped hostage struggled again.

"Shut The Hell Up, or I'll Throw you off the SHIP!!! You're nothing but just a useless piece of baggage now that your use is over!!!!" Gamora yelled at the poor soldier.

The woman gasped seeing the murderous look in the 'Deadliest Woman of the Galaxy' and whimpered before tearing up.

Gamora sighed in annoyance, "Groot! Drop her in the storage area!"

That there... was a mistake. Trusting Groot to handle the hostage... a big mistake, for sure.

After finally taking over the nation, Erik told the group about the skeleton plan for stabilizing the nation.

Sokovia's major problems were chaotic politics, frequent riots, Hydra, and resources. And of course, normal national problems.

The first problem was solved with Wanda taking over, the second problem was already solved when she became the military general, the third problem Erik solved in the past two months, and the rest of the problems were something that would be taken care of gradually.

Of course, the first week was busy as hell.

After the official announcement of Wanda taking over the nation, they both worked tirelessly to address public grievances and maintain control over the media narrative.

Their days were a blur of paperwork, emergency sessions, and public addresses. It was an exhausting routine, but slowly, the nation's chaos began to subside.

After about a week, they finally managed to find the time to relax on their Mars base.

[ Mars Base ]

After the final meeting of the day, Erik and Wanda returned to their Mars base.

The important work was done, and before coming here Erik had laid out the instructions for all the officials, so they were all kinda free for the next few days.

"Eriiiikkkk!!!!" Cindy came rushing towards him, "We have finally upgraded the telepathic blocker!!"

The girl was elated, these past two months, the time she spent with Erik was so much reduced. But now, since her project was finished, she was free to join them everywhere.

"Really?" Erik embraced the girl in a tight hug, "You've worked hard, huh..."

Separating from Erik she yawned, and turned to Wanda with her ever-present smile, "How did the press conference go?"

"It went well," Wanda replied with a wry smile as she noticed the black under Cindy's eyes, "You haven't been taking rest for a long time, have you?"

"Um... yeah... well, we were so close to finishing the project that taking rest didn't even come to our minds." Cindy giggled sheepishly, she knew she might get scolded now.

'Sometimes, I forget that Wanda's younger...' She smiled.

Erik noticed that Yui Sasaki was already passed out on her work table. He turned his attention back to Cindy, who was barely managing to keep her eyes open yet she was radiating excitement and happiness.

Without a word, Erik scooped Cindy up in a princess carry. She let out a surprised squeak but quickly nestled against his chest, her exhaustion taking over. "You need rest, Cindy," he said gently, "You've done more than enough."

In the warmth of his embrace, she relaxed, and unknowingly her eyes fluttered shut, and she mumbled something incoherent before drifting off to sleep.

Erik carried her to her room, laying her down on the bed and tucking her in. He brushed a strand of hair from her face, his expression softening.

Wanda said, watching with a fond smile. "She really pushed herself hard," she said softly.

Erik nodded. "That she did, even though I always tell her to not overdo it. Well, she deserves a reward."

Hours later, Cindy awoke to the delicious aroma of food wafting through the air. She blinked sleepily and sat up, her stomach growling.

She followed the smell to the kitchen, where she found Erik and Wanda bustling around, preparing a romantic dinner.

The table was beautifully set, with candles casting a warm glow and a bouquet of flowers in the center. Wanda was plating the final dish, while Erik arranged the silverware with meticulous care.

Cindy rubbed her eyes, a smile spreading across her face. "You guys did all this?"

Wanda nodded, stepping over to hug Cindy. "You deserved a special treat for all your hard work."

Cindy's heart swelled with affection for them. "Come on, guys, it wasn't like I was the only one working hard, you all were busy too!"

That's true, but while Wanda, Erik, Pietro, and Lilja worked on Earth, they had the comfort of each others' presence, but Cindy was alone for the past few days, solely working day and night just for Erik's sake (The company of Yui Sasaki doesn't count).

Helen was on Mars too but she was mostly burrowed in her own lab. It must've been hard for Cindy.

As they all sat down to enjoy the meal, chatting and laughing. The food was delicious, of course.

After dinner, the trio decided to go on a small date around their Mars base. Erik led the way to the special vehicle, parked just outside the building's main entrance.

"Hop in," Erik said, opening the doors with a flourish.
