An interesting sight

"What do you think, Lady Selah? Isn't this quite an interesting sight?"

The word "enough" couldn't describe the scene far in front of Selah at all. The term "very" would be more appropriate. Because the scene in front of him was a scene where her fiancé was kissing another woman.

Selah had never expected to see this betrayal with her own eyes.

"Who would have thought that your fiancé was a b*stard," said the man who had shown the scene.

"The man you call a b*stard is a crown prince and your brother, Prince Aeneas," Selah said, trying to calm herself down.

Aeneas shrugged casually. "That still turns him into a b*stard, right?" He smiled crookedly then. "But I didn't expect your reaction to being like this. Really boring."

"Just how do you expect me to react?"

"Who knows? Coming out of hiding in these bushes, running up to him, then slapping him hard? Women usually do."

After exhaling a long breath, she returned to the sight in front of her. On one of the patios in the Palace garden, her fiancé is joking with the woman he has just kissed. Selah recognized the woman and tagged her tightly on her mind.

After this, it was clear that Selah could not face the two of them without bubbling anger.

"Thank you for the information, Prince Aeneas. This means a lot to me," said Selah, calming herself down.

She was about to leave until suddenly Aeneas stopped her. He even pulled her closer.

"Oh my, Lady Selah. You don't think this is all for free, do you?" said Aneas. His hand slowly reached for Selah's chin, bringing her to meet his eyes. Blue and golden brown, Aeneas has two different eye colors.

"I'm not sure I can properly repay your kindness, Your Highness. But I will try," said Selah.

Again Aeneas smiled. His thumb then brushed Selah's lips and stopped at the tip. He looked like he was wiping something there.

Aeneas showed his thumb. There was a slight bloodstain on his glove. Selah must have bitten her lip involuntarily earlier.

"Prince Aeneas?" said Selah.

Aeneas came closer and whispered right in his ear. "Marry me, Lady Selah."

Aeneas kissed Selah on the cheek.

The following day, Selah has an unexpected visitor.

"My apologies for bringing along Prince Aeneas, Duke Dulcia. But he has wanted to see the garden at your residence for a long time."

Selah had thought Blair would definitely visit since she left without saying goodbye last night. But she did not expect that Aeneas would also come with him.

What is he planning now? thought Selah while looking suspiciously at Aeneas exchanging pleasantries with his father with his most dazzling smile. Considering that Aeneas had asked her to marry her yesterday, could it be–

"What are you doing, Selah? Bring Crown Prince Blair to your study," Duke Dulcia scolded sharply.

Selah immediately snapped out of her daydream. She turned to Blair, who looked at her in surprise. "This way please, Your Highness."

Selah took the time to glance at Aeneas. She didn't expect her to return his glances with a crooked smile.

"This is the first time you've shown interest in something," Blair blurted out.

Blair must have caught Selah's eye movement from earlier. "This is the first time I have seen Prince Aeneas up close, Your Majesty," he said casually.

"Prince Aeneas is known to be very handsome. His difference eye color makes it even more striking," Blair admits. "But you... I don't think a man will be able to move your heart."

"You want to say that I am fascinated by Prince Aeneas?"

"If the answer is yes, you have succeeded in making me angry, Lady Selah." Blair suddenly grabbed Selah's hand and cornered her in a quiet hallway. "Our engagement is based on politics. You can like anyone as long as it's not Aeneas."

It was hard for Selah to keep herself from snorting sarcastically. Look who's talking, she thought. "Of course, Your Highness. I remember it well. Our pact is to stick together without causing trouble for either side, right?" he said. He smiled then. "I hope you remember that too."

Blair squinted at her. He looked suspicious but decided not to ask any further questions. "Why did you come home last night without saying goodbye?" he asked after releasing Selah.

"I apologize if my sudden departure got you in trouble."

"Don't dodge. I asked why last night you left without saying goodbye."

"I didn't see my fiancé anywhere at the time. Because I was bored, I decided to go home."

"Just so you know, your fiancé is busy. He can't always stay by your side."

They arrived at Selah's study. It was a fairly large room with two walls full of books. Apart from a set of work desks, there is also a set of tables and sofas for receiving private guests.

The personal guest in question is none other than Blair, her fiancé.

"I rarely see my fiancé. We are both busy, but he rarely makes time for me even though I work hard to make time for mine," said Selah.

Blair suddenly hugged her from behind. He kissed Selah's cheek, then rested his head on Selah's shoulder.

"Are you mad at me?" whispered Blair.

Selah ignored him.

"I'm sorry, okay? But last night I really had to leave for a bit with an important talk. I couldn't leave it."

An important conversation that can't be left behind? Selah just wanted to laugh at that.

But could Selah be angry at Blair for long? If it's wrong, they might cancel their engagement.

Ironic indeed. Even though Selah knew about Blair's affair, she couldn't just let him go. There will be too many things to sacrifice later.

"You forgive me, Selah?" she asked. He started kissing Selah. From the ears down to the shoulders.

Selah's skin flushed from it. But this time it was because he was holding back her anger.

Finally, the two princes leave. Selah could tell that Blair's business was over. But it seems not so to Aeneas.

She didn't expect that he really wanted to see the garden in her residence. Aeneas even went so far as to pick and arrange flowers.

"I am delighted that Duke Dulcia allowed me to pick the flowers," said Aeneas happily.

"Not a problem at all, Prince Aeneas. I have long heard that you like flowers. I always feel amazed every time I pass through the garden at the Palace. It's all your work, right?" flattered Duke Dulcia.

"Ah, of course, I didn't take care of them alone. In fact, I'm just taking care of it. Someone else is working on it," explains Aeneas. "But for arranging flowers, Mother is more skilled than me."

Yes, indeed that's all that is famous about the figure of Aeneas.

Handsome, loves flowers, and loves his mother very much. Despite his position as the second prince and having peerless good looks, Aeneas is clean of nasty gossip.

Or at least, that's what Selah knows.

"Here is a flower arrangement for you, Lady Selah. Hope you like it," said Aeneas as he handed his flower arrangement in front of Blair and her father.

Selah already thought that Aeneas must be courting death. Until then, Selah realized that a piece of paper was tucked in the flower arrangement.

There are an address and an appointment time write on it.
