"I'll go first." Kelvin spoke up.
The man was wore a neat suit and carried a brief luggage for the overnight stay. His look for the day was a dark blue suit, paired with a black shirt and shoes. He was going out of town with Harris and would be gone for three days. That meant Luliyah would be alone at home for the three days.
Luliyah just nodded and waved at Kelvin and Harris. She felt a little happy that she finally had time for herself, but of course she didn't dare to show it in front of Kelvin. She acted neutral but was actually very happy.
From today and the next two days, she would do whatever she wanted. She would be free.
After Kelvin left, she spent her time in the greenhouse. She relaxed, read books and observed the various plants. While she was in the greenhouse, she remembered her mother's flower garden. It has been a long time she visited the flower garden. Maybe a lot of weeds had filled the garden.
She would ask for permission from Kelvin to go to her mother's flower garden. She should clean the garden and buy some flower seeds to plant.
It didn't feel like the sun was already setting. The sky was slowly being covered by clouds. Luliyah immediately returned to the house. As she walked towards the house, she perceived the aroma of cooking which made her stomach rattle. Mrs Binta was in the kitchen preparing dinner so Luliyah rushed over to assist her.
Dinner was served on the dinning table in no time. Today, only she and Mrs Binta would eat together.
She was glad that Mrs Binta was in the house. If it weren't for her, she would have eaten her dinner alone on this large table. She would definitely feel very lonely.
After dinner, they continued to chat in the family room until Luliyah started yawning. Taking a walk in the greenhouse during the day made her quite tired.
Seeing Luliyah yawn, Mrs Binta also yawned, "It's late, get some rest." She said.
"Yes Ma'am. I'll go to the room first, Good night." Luliyah replied.
She quickly went into the bedroom and lay down on the bed. Without realizing it, her hand touched the side of bed where Kelvin normally sleeps on. The bed was cold. There was a strange feeling creeping into her heart when she realized that no one was lying by her side.
The bed felt very big for her alone. In the past, her bed didn't even make up to half of this bed.
She closed her eyes while her hands trailed towards Kelvin's empty side of the bed. She slept off after thinking for a while.
.....
The next morning, after breakfast; Luliyah tried to contact Kelvin. She wanted to ask for permission from Kelvin to go to her flower garden.
It didn't take long for Kelvin to answer the call.
"Hmm" He answered.
"Have you had breakfast?" Luliyah asked him.
"Yes. What's with the sudden call?" Luliyah rarely called him. Maybe he could count how many times Luliyah called after they got married. He knew that when Luliyah called him, it either she needs something or wanted to ask for my permission.
"Can I visit my mother's flower garden? The garden has not been taken care of for a long time..." Luliyah asked.
Of course, Kelvin knew about Luliyah's mother's flower garden. When he was looking for information about Luliyah, the land was also included. He also knew that Martins asked Luliyah for the land few days ago.
"Hmm... Tell Agi to take you and a few servants." Kelvin said calmly. Luliyah was very happy to hear Kelvin's answer. She got the permission to leave.
"Thank you." Luliyah responded to Kelvin. She couldn't hide the excitement in her voice.
Kelvin smiled faintly when he heard the voice. He could imagine the large smile spreading across Luliyah's face, making her dimples to show. Her eyes would sparkle with excitement and she would probably jump up and down in excitement.
Nico saw the look of Kelvin's face. His uncle just picked up a call from someone, but it was clear that the person was his aunt. Only Luliyah could make his uncle a slave to love like this.
He immediately cleared his throat loudly, trying to get his uncle's attention, "Uncle, did aunt call you?" He asked a question that had an obvious answer, but he would not miss this opportunity to tease his uncle.
"Hmm..." Kelvin ignored Nico's question and answered him in an indistinct mutter.
"No wonder, your voice sounded so soft. If I was the one that called, you would have hung up before I finished talking." Nico protested.
Kelvin rolled his eyes at Nico's words. He didn't understand how his nephew was such a talkative. As soon as he spoke, Nico couldn't pause and kept on talking. Personality wise, he and his nephew was the complete opposite.
Seeing that his uncle did not respond to his teasing at all, he immediately changed the subject.
"Uncle, I heard you have a plot of land used for a flower garden."
Kelvin turned his head when he heard Nico's question, "How did you know that?"
"I have many ways to find out." Nico replied, grinning widely. It was obvious that he did, since he was also a member of the Williams Family. He had many people he could order to gather various information.
Actually, there was a question that was in his heart when he found out the information about Luliyah's land. "Uhmm...Uncle did you marry her because of that land? Did you really marry her because you love her, or because you wanted the land?" Nico asked, looking at Kelvin curiously.
"I didn't marry Luliyah because of that land. The land is hers." Kelvin replied.
Nico nodded his head when he heard Kelvin's answer, but there was a feeling of unwillingness in his heart to find out that this strategic land was used to plant flowers.
Moreover, his uncle and aunt were married. So, whatever belonged to his aunt also belonged to his uncle. It should be the same for the land. The land should be considered his uncle's property too.
"Too bad the land is used for growing flowers. It is a waste. Did she refuse to give you the land, uncle? If the land is used for business.." Nico complained at length. Even though he was young, he was used to assisting Kelvin in handling the company matters.
"I have other plans for the land" Kelvin said angrily.
