Past Wounds

As he stands up, he finds that he's very groggy from the healing spell, and can barely keep his eyes open.

He tries to walk towards the door, and he finds it much harder to do so than he thought it would be. He can barely stand up by himself, and feel as though he's about to fall over and pass out again.

"D*mn it! why is my hand shaking?!" Max is getting frustrated because he can't stop the shaking of his hand.

"Oh! Here let me help you."

The old woman walks over to him and places her hand on his, allowing her to transfer some of her mana to Max.

Slowly, Max starts feeling more stable and less shaky as he let his mana recover.

"Thank you.." Max responded to the old woman's kind gesture.

He's now fully awake and he walk over to the corner where Luna is asleep.

Luna is curled up into a ball, and is asleep very deeply.

He can tell that she's been like this for hours now, so she must be extremely tired.

He's a bit hesitant to wake her up, as she looks so peaceful and carefree.

"Did she bring me here when I passed out?"

"Yes. Your friend dragged you into the house as soon as she could." The old woman answers, as she looks towards the corner of the room where Luna is asleep.

Max has no idea how Luna dragged him into the house, as she's completely exhausted and it must've been extremely difficult for her.

The old woman is giving Max a look which says, "Be grateful to your friend, she has done a lot for you."

"Hey granny, why am I covered with bandages? I don't have any injuries."

The old woman looks at him and says, "I know you might not believe me, but I can see your innermost injuries much more easily than you can."

Max can tell that the old woman is trying to hint something with her words towards you.

She gives him a sympathetic smile and a slight nod.

The look on her face now says, "Take care young one. You will need this healing more than you think."

She is saying this to him in a way as if she were his mother

"Innermost injuries? what is that?"

The old woman looks at him, as if she's about to try to explain something to him that is going to be very hard to understand.

She begins to start speaking, "You may not believe it, but you can get injured in places deeper than you would expect..."

She is now trying to indirectly tell him about his injuries, without being too blunt or honest with them.

"It would be like trying to explain how magic works to someone who does not believe in it and has never used magic before..."

"Alright I don't understand it."

Max can see the old woman is frustrated as to how she's going to explain to him how his wounds work.

She takes a long breath and tries to explain to him another way.

"Your heart is like the beating heart of magic, or energy. Your heart can also be called your 'Mana Heart' in our culture."

She is now trying to indirectly explain how his mana heart works and how his heart is important in using magic.

"I still don't understand it..."

The old woman's face is starting to show some slight frustration, as she now starts to realize that she may not be able to reach him and help him.

"Ok.. uh. Lets try one last way of explaining this."

The old woman tries to explain one final thing to Max about why the injuries he has are important to heal even though he cannot see them.

"Do you know who the Goddess of Time is?"

"Goddess of Time Timina?"

"You are correct. Many people just call this Goddess 'Timina.'" The old woman says.

"And... have you ever heard of the Curse of Time? And of someone getting Lost in Time?"

The old woman continues, as she tries to give Max an answer to why his wounds cannot be seen, but can still harm him if left untreated.

"No..."

"That is something that could happen to you, if you continue to strain yourself and not get your inner wounds healed."

She is now trying to subtly imply that Max wounds could lead to the Curse of Time.

She is now looking at Max, as if she's trying to scare him a little bit to make sure he understands the situation.

"So what are you saying is I need to face my past?" Max seems pretty chill about the situation.

The old woman's eyes widened a little bit.

"Yes! That is exactly it." She responds.

"You have quite the soul then, and an extremely high potential for magic and mana-related power... You just need to learn how to control your inner heart."

"Alright then..."

Max can notice a slight sense of relief come off the old woman after he have agreed to this.

It seems like she believes that Max can change and do great things.

"You can stay in my house for as long as you need. You can take some time to learn more about Magic, and about your past, before setting out to accomplish greater things."

She believes that Max will be able to accomplish great things, once he's more confident and knowledgeable about his internal soul.

"Yes, of course." The old woman says to you.

Max can tell on the old woman's face as she's speaking this to him that she has something in mind that will help Max learn more about himself in order to become stronger.

She is hoping that seeing the three moons in the sky will also spark Max with an idea to help him accomplish his goal.

"Granny... do you believe in Bakunawa the serpent-like dragon who wants to eat one of our moon?"

"Why yes... of course. I can even tell you the story behind it. Would you like to hear the story behind it?" The old woman responds, as she starts to walk towards the front door.

"Bakunawa is a legendary gigantic sea serpent, who was said to want to eat one of our moon."

"Yeah tell me,"

"The Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon. It is believed to be the cause of eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind."

The old woman is now trying to explain the story of Bakunawa to Max, as she is explaining she sounds extremely patient and caring.

She gives a motherly look and smiles towards him.

"I believe that Bakunawa exists somewhere here in this world waiting for the time." Max said

The old woman's face lights up as Max respond.

"Oh! That's very interesting. Most adults don't believe the stories about Bakunawa anymore, and are starting to think it's all just a myth." She responds.

Max can tell that the old woman is just extremely excited because he believes the stories, as he's part of the new generation who is much more open-minded to these myths and legends.

She then starts to speak to Max, as she is very enthusiastic about the old folklore.
