At the hotel
Emily stood and watched as multiple detectives questioned multiple employees in the hallway. Luckily for them, the entire hotel had not been burned, and it was only a small section of the second floor where several unoccupied rooms had been burned.
Although Angelo did not show how distraught he was, Emily, unlike the rest of the people, could see much deeper than that. She turned her head to look at the burned-out section of the hotel. The charred remains of a fire had burned the beautiful wallpaper that had given the hotel its beautiful vintage look.
Emily had not visited much of Angelo's buildings, but one of the things she appreciated was the beauty and vintage decoration of this particular hotel that Angelo had shown her only a while ago. The intentional burning of this floor had cut Emily as though a knife was pushed deep into her.
