Madam Lu

Suddenly a pair of steps were heard in the stables and disrupted Jo's thoughts. She lifted her head and their eyes met. Jo's reaction was to quickly hide, so she crouched down and hid behind the horse. "Fudge!! He already saw me, why did I hide?!" Jo whispered to her self, ah... what a cringe reaction. In the mean time, the man bent down as well, wanting to make eye contact with her, from the other side of the horse. "What are you doing?" Jo's face instantly turned red. "Ummm... I dropped the brush... you are home early!" Jo managed to pull her self out of that cringe situation. Lu Ye Ze, chuckled lightly "Haha ha..." He hadn't finished teasing her yet, so he added. "I missed you!"

Time Stood Still

Jo gasped, the sound of metal cutting through flesh could be heard faintly, the man had fallen on top of her. Jo felt a sharp pain in her stomach, she tried to move the man from on top of her, but she had no strength left. Suddenly a familiar voice was heard calling her name.

"Ri-El!"

Jo recognised her husband's voice and suddenly calmed down, she was safe now, so she let out a deep breath and closed her eyes. Lu Ye Ze put the gun down and rushed over. He removed the body, that fell on top of Jo and his face instantly turned pale.

Jo was covered in blood, while a sword was piercing her stomach. The man froze in his spot, his vision turned blurry and a muted sound was all he could he hear. The sound was so loud that it was piercing his ears. Only him could hear it though, it was his pulse that suddenly dropped to a fatal index. His phone slid out of his hand, on the screen the GPS tracker he had installed in his wife's watch, was still flashing.

A team of six bodyguards suddenly surrounded them. He Mufeng caught the falling Lu Ye Ze while ordering for the helicopter to be brought at once.

Time stood still for him, he barely could hear or see the people around him. The only image that was vivid in front of his eyes was the one of his wife's lifeless body covered in blood. He couldn't see her eyes, she had already closed them. Although his body had been already dragged to the car, his soul was left there with her.

He had promised her, that he would protect her, that not even God would be able to touch her, yet now she had been laying there on the cold ground when he had finally found her. The piercing muted sound grew louder and the man's eyes rolled over at the back of his head and lost consciousness. Bear, his bodyguard, who was on the backseat of the car with him, alerted his captain.

"Captain Liu, Master lost consciousness!"

"Check his pulse!" Replied the captain.

Bear put two fingers to the man's throat to find his pulse, but he could barely feel anything.

"Captain! His pulse is unstable!"

Liu looked in the rear view mirror at his Boss in the back seat, he squinted his eyes and quickly analysed the road ahead, then he let out a deep breath and pressed on the accelerator. The 4x4 Toyota was drifting like a fish through the water, through all the narrow curbs and rough terrain of the mountain roads.

This roads were very difficult for driving, but he had been a car racer before he had joined Lu Ye Ze's team. He had to quit because of a knee cap injury and today was the first time he had faced this type of challenge, since he had quit the racing world. The adrenaline was rushing through his veins, while the helicopter flew over past him.

Lu Ye Ze was floating between dream and reality, he started falling deeper and deeper into his unconsciousness, taken away by his memories, on a long journey in the past. Snippets of memories started playing back in his head, starting from this very morning. He remembered vividly, Jo's bright smile when she'd kissed him 'good morning', then he was taken back to that night in London when he had taken her first time, her sweetness, the tremble of her body and her warm embrace, he could still feel all this. These memories were so deep engraved in his mind, that even his body could remember.

The events were then fast-forward to one day. A horrible day from when he was five years old.
