"If we managed to convince the Lucas, I am positive that we might be able to convince the board," Darrell confidently said. 

For Darrell, even though he was not sure that they were going to listen to them or, like Myles had said, kill them on sight.

Myles was shaking his head to show that he was disappointed with Darrell. On the other hand, Melvyn looked to be in deep thoughts. 

Hazel had been quiet this whole time. 

She was yet to familiarise herself with this whole council thing. She decided to contribute to the discussion. 

"I may not know much about you, Darrell, but I agree with him. For a person who has seen the damage the demons can cause firsthand, then I say that we should use all types of help that we can get to defeat them; otherwise, we might end like the thousands of vampires that we have lost today." She said everyone agreed with her except for Myles.
